Hot Rods Weak 37 ford E brake

Our 37 ford has a 9” rear and the original E brake lever, when engaged it’s not very effective. We have another 37 in our shop at present and the customer said his E brake is not very efficient either, original lever again , 8 3/4 rear with disc brakes. Can any give a place to start looking for improvement please.

 

Might not be fully engaging or have enough leverage to make it effective. What’s your handle to cables situation?

sometimes see the stock handle routed to a longer lever which pulls the cable.

 

I added a multiplier lever in the routing from 40 park brake handle to disc brake caliper on Ford 9" for a friend of mine. Long time ago, no pics.

 

Is that like a off set lever somewhere?

 

If you kept the cable brakes the parking brake works amazing… on all 4 tires
