I'm seeing a chance of scattered storms Saturday. Last year was cold and wet but fun. What are the local weather guys saying?
The latest from KEYE-TV, seems Friday is the day to go. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE SATURDAY Weekend plans? I’m keeping a precautionary WEATHER ALERT for Saturday morning to midday with scattered showers and isolated storms possible. While the bulk of the strong/severe storm threat will be northeast of our area, spots north and east of Austin are highlighted in the MARGINAL severe threat by the Storm Prediction Center, with HAIL being the highest threat. We’ll have cold air aloft and possible elevated storms that could develop and drop some possible large hail. Of course, lightning and brief heavy downpours will also be a threat, so if you have any Saturday morning to midday outdoor events - please stay weather aware. Highest rain totals up to 1” may fall in the areas hardest hit by last weekend’s rain: Eastern Williamson, Milam and Lee Counties. For the Austin area, we may skate by with less than ½” of rain the way things are looking and even lower totals to the south and west. Saturday afternoon, we’ll see clearing and Saturday evening - if you’re going to the UT Spring Game - you’ll want a jacket/coat. Temps may be around 70 at kickoff, but drop into the upper 50s after the game along with a northwest wind 10-20+ mph behind a cold front.
