Was there ever a plug version of the 6100X3 double compression fitting? The 6100X3 was used on Fords for the 3/16 tubing that goes from the carburetor (in this case a teapot) to the distributor (the dreaded Load-o-matic!). I'm using a dual advance distributor on my Y-block and don't need this line. I had been just soldering up the old fittings, but I came across what appeared to be a plug version on one of my parts carbs that had been at one time "rebuilt by an independent rebuilder". The plug isn't marked as Weatherhead, but looks to have the correct taper.

My '61 Weatherhead catalog doesn't list any such plug. Could it just be a homemade piece or something that was only available to rebuilders?

Could he have used this? They both have the same thread size 3/8-24 for 3/16" tubing. The first picture is your threaded sleeve nut. The second is a 45 degree flare plug. Hopefully I am thinking along the same lines as you.

That's really close to what I have! Mine just doesn't have the flat areas at the beginning and end of the threads. It'll would probably work! :)

The only reason I got myself in this problem is I dorked up one of my fittings while soldering it closed. :( I did find I can order the 6100x3 nuts from Fastenal. So, I can give the soldering another whirl! :D
