Postal zone, BITD a zone number was an aid for delivery. The USPS later went to five digit Zip Codes and now there are also nine digit Zip Codes, but the nine digit is not mandatory. I guess old magazines might help in determining where each wheel was manufactured by learning the zone numbers of Weber’s plants. This could be the next big thing, kind of like having a Culver City Halibrand quick change. Then again I have a hunch there may be repro quickie rear covers out there.
Both of those postal zones are in eastern Los Angeles, and right beside each other, according to the 1956 postal zone map.
Also, LA was growing pretty quickly after WWII, and part of 33 might have gotten assigned 63 due to the population increase.
