here is the sleeve I am starting tonight...A question to other tattoo artists, I asked around th eshop and couldnt get a descent answer....what are the unwritten rules on using other peoples artowrk and incorporating them into tattoos. Most people dont care but I am wondering. I get alot of guys that I design sleeves for that come on with pictures, posters, other peoples tattoos and want them incorporated into sleeves. Of course I do it, hell...I gotta pay the bills. What is your opinion of this?

I put all three of these together for the same guy, he keeps finding different stuff and cant seem to make up his mind. NOTE: This guy is a HAMBer and at least 90% OF THE STUFF HE WANTS WAS ORIGINALLY DONE BY OTHER ARTISTS. I just kinda put it all together and throw some color around.

Ok, I know I don't really have the hang of this yet but at least it kinda looks like an old photograph. How in the world do ya get that cracked look?!? Is it a trade secret?

Well speaking as an artist. I would feel flattered if someone used my art on there body. Actually some do cause I do some tattoing in the spare time. I dont want to get bashed for it. But I have alot of Coop stuff worked into my sleeves."Not fro m his crappy flash set." I also have some of Ed Roths work as well. And some of my own drawings. I am relly into the hot rod monster thing so I put what I want on my body. I will hopefully have some pics for next weeks show. I have some life size sculptures of Ed Roth inspired monsters hanging out of real 30's and 40's car doors that I'm finising up right now.

Bitchin stuff youse guys. Keep it comin.

ICT, I really dig your pen and ink looking stuff. What medium is that?

Johnny- I have a water slide decal from Roth studios with that Frankenstein art on it. Found it on the grass at Paso a couple of years ago. It says "Paso cool as hell" on it. Your/Kali's work?

Rick...not our sticker or work, not sure who could have done those?
The design is actually from Roth studios circa 59-60, and used for a few years til Roth hired Newt to clean everything up...The Frankie was reproduced by Roth as screened t -shirts,as well as done on individual airbrushed shirts by Dick Ash,aka Rot-Eye aka AshEye....

Shortbus, I really like the Merc pic, it's more than just the car, obviously. It's just that I can taste the Taco Bell and almost smell the pavement. I guess that's what real art does.

Go to www.misprintedtype.com look for the free brushed fro photoshop. You then can make a mask layer on your picture or you can create a 2nd layer and use your brush tool with the color you want and just click once. You can addjust your opacity on the brush a little bit if you want also.

To use the brushes you will have to unstuff them and add them to your brush library.

They are under the AIRBAG header.

    Presto instant fotos!

Jeem- Thank you for the kind words. That means a lot coming from the likes of you.

Tito I bean trying to get in touch with you, gimme a holla.

Here's that decal. It's definitely Roth but carries a 2000 copyright. Maybe a Reno repop? The stamp on the back shows the Slauson, Maywood address..

By the way, Kali really nailed it.

Brush is correct Johnny. YOU, are a lucky man. You probably even have hair huh? Bastard. I am reminded of a song Woody sang on Cheers. And it goes a little like this; Oh Kali, Kali Kali Kali Kali Kali Kali Kali.......

    Great art all y'all!
