guess most everyone has a tale about bikes. doubt if many would compete with your miles covered. in my area see a lot of EV models used by kids & adults. seeing multiple old rides in the yard rare site. Thanks for sharing your adventures

Good on ya [Moriarity]. Excellent routine. Keep it up.

I worked at a bicycle shop as a mechanic/shop attendant in HS and college. During my tenure there, my shenanigans in an OT 440 magnum 4-speed 3.54:1 Dana 60 rear car cost me my driver's license. Not owning a road bike I built one out of the shop's junk on hand. I rode everywhere for about a year. Later, I built a top-tier road bike but didn't ride it much. Fortunately, while gaining weight at my post-education desk job, I got back into cycling and rode about 200 hard training miles a week for 2 years. I did time trials and road race events plus a few "century" rides of 100 miles. Did one century in less than 5 hours.

Don't ride anymore and don't miss it.

[EDIT - I don't seem to have any reading comprehension anymore either. Pretty sad for a guy with a degree in journalism. Shows you what all that exercise did to my fuggin brain. Moriarity, editor, big contributor. Insane OCD over the top cars, car collection, annual collection dustoff. Oy. Apologies my good man.]

I still ride the road bike I bought new in 1984 and the former mountain bike turned old man bike I bought in 1996.
I have well over 15,000 miles on that road bike ... probably closer to 20,000. rode 5 miles yesterday.:)
