The coupe's front door's are ruffly 10.5 inches longer than the sedan. Here's some pic's of 3 different merc's we have converted. The 49 was made into a convert and both 51 are hard topped. One of the 51's has a mild chop 3.5 X 4.5 the other one is fast backed 5 x 8

Welcome on the HAMB. The 49/50 and 51 mercury bodies are all very much alike with the exception of the extended fenders of the 51. They are so much so that a person can take a set of coupe rear quarter panels and install them in place of a sport sedans after removal of the B-pilar. The roofs are different so it has to be changed out too. The coupe doors are a bolt on if you can find a donor car. This is all if it is to be changed without modifications. If you are planning a custom job EXK has several excellent examples of what can be done.

I like how you remove the top of the B-pillar and go for the pillar-less look.
Do you have to strengthen the panel(the orginal rear door) in some way? Do you use the orginal side gl*** and mechanisms?
