Thanks for the video Salty! Great talking to you several times over the course of the weekend. We were juuust a little outclassed on this pass. The "Bootlegger" ran an 8.70 in the other lane on this pass to our 10.42, which at the time was our best pass ever. The car got quicker every pass on Saturday so we were having a blast. I told Ric when we signed up for A Gas, which went up to 10.50 this year, that we were gonna get our asses handed to us all weekend! We were in the deep end with cars like the "Bootlegger", Jeff Jacobson's "Skairlane", Greg Porter's "Nightstalker", Shannon Smith's "Pale Rider" and Jerry Lopez's "River Rat"! Thanks to the Great Lakes Gassers for letting us run with them on Saturday night!

It was a tough crowd in S/S for me also.
Got my ass handed to me every pass.
Made my back hurt trying to push harder on the throttle.

    Love those wheels-up Willys coupes.

First time attending, had an absolute blast. I'm not exaggerating a bit when I say this year's Meltdown was the best drag race I've ever attended. Period.
Been wanting to go for several years and finally made it work. Didn't talk to too many people, just sort of stumbled around in a daze, relatively certain I saw St. Peter at the gate when we drove in....
Thanks, guys. You put a grin on this kid's face that's gonna take weeks to go away.
Got a few more photos here: http://www.terrysgarage.com/p1029821409
(That gallery is mobile friendly but on my phone the link above comes up desktop view. If I type in the main web address and then go to the gallery it works fine so I don't know what's up.)

...you and I think alike,....I told the Koop's and Paul on Thursday already that this was "heaven"....only in the real heaven, there'd be a whole new set of cars every few days so you wouldn't get bored!
    I just can't believe it's over already.

I wish I could have got this to stick more than just once. Friday was good air and cool track. Been waiting a long time for this. Hats off to the MDA for another great event. 20170716_125514.jpg

James , I agree 100 % ! A lot of excellent runs by everyone. Car turnout was excellent. It was nice to meet you finally even for only a moment or two. I enjoy your story about Dueceup lettering the car while you where bleeding brakes on Wednesday night, talk about last minute ! Would have like to talk longer , but you where in the "office" ready to go to work so I did not want to distract you! Car looks great and it is always fun to watch you run!

I agree the weekend went by way too fast (in more ways than one!!) But honestly, "bored" was not part of my vocabulary!

    Which one?? :D
No shortage of photographers there and they were all pretty busy. You could try emailing Gasser Wars Magazine - afuelfiat@aol.com I met Dave Davis and Phil Morris from the magazine who were both taking pics and they might know. Or one of the Meltdown guys on here.
Sorry about your problems on the track, hated to see that. Look forward to seeing you out there again soon.

This event just got added to the top of my bucket list. Got to figure out how to justify the 30 plus hour tow and see if I can interest the hilltown shaker into a match race , ie east vs west
