I have a set of ford steel wheels, '42-48 4 1/2 to be exact. The riveted section around the valve stem hole is rusted pretty good. Not all the way through, i'd say less than half. I'm worried about the rivets around this area have taken the worst of it. Question:

S***ch weld that section like a new wheel, being sure go slow and minimize the heat? Don't worry bout it? Get another wheel?

I'm trying salvage this wheel any advice would be helpful? Thanks

I've seen them welded, but I'm the paranoid type and wouldn't run them.

I can gas weld do that then? Anybody else? The other areas of rivets are in good shape. It's only 1 maybe 2 that are affected, Rivets I mean not riveted sections.
    I may just run it.

Depends on what your life is worth and how much you value other's lives. I see you're in Colorado, so the chances of you losing a wheel and ramming into my car are pretty remote, so go ahead.

Just a sarcastic way of saying get some decent ones and NEVER scrimp on safety. You're not talking about a whole lot of money to replace them with good, safe ones.
