welding a 54 merc front x member?

My 54 merc front xmember is rotted like most 54 merc-fords. Which method should i use mig or arc welder. Ive got a hobart 110 volt mig and a lincoln buzz box. I can use a friends 230 volt mig if the 110 wont cut it. Thanks Mike

 

Id use the stick on that.

 

the stick or your buddies welder.i welded mine with a 220 mig and it's very sturdy.

 

I have a '54 Merc and mine was rotted too, I bought a new one from Goodell Fabrications off E-PAY and it fit like a chmp just thought i would share that with you.
