....the HAMB has been blocked.:( It joins the ranks of MySpace and Facebook of which I've never paticipated but I gues others at work had. I'm sure I was the only person out of the 300 employees in the Metro Detroit area that "visited" the HAMB on a daily bases. Of course I'm bummed but there is nothing I can do about it at this point. I guess I only wanted to mention it in case my future lack of participation is noticed.

don't you have an Iphone or something of the sort?
well you know this thread is going to turn into the your stealing work time, but what about all the smokers?
    I know you'll figure out a solution.

Yeah right, my boss would blow a gasket if I had a personal laptop on my desk.

It's strange how I am continuously the top sales person year after year yet the HAMB was a problem?? I don't think so.

A lot of companies around here won't let you smoke on their premises,
and actually require you to do work when you're on the clock. I wonder
what my grandfather did at work. Like an old boss use to say,
"If you have time to lean, you have time to clean".

  10. Its ok, Ryan is developing implants that surf the HAMB with a heads up display that projects on the back of your cornea!

man that ****s! Its still coming through here.

I suggest baking your IT guy a batch of cookies and slipping him the names of the sites he could get taken off the list for you.

Probably some low performer in sales complained and you got the reply. Cell phones also became abused and everyone else suffers.

  16. I feel for ya. My work blocked it a few months ago, but, since we have a standalone outside network, it's all good. Weird thing, I can still get to the gear and jockey journals through the blocked network.

  17. Some sites get blocked at my work ( HAMB being one) Other forums get through. Still others get through in a stripped down text form and picture links and pop up ads get removed, which is actually good! Craiglist and ebay and Kijiji ( ebay cl***ifieds) make it through virtually un****hed so I look for car stuff there.
There must be a way to "sanitize" a site so it does not give the blockingbots any keywords etc. for it to see and thus block.

Our blocking software tells you the reason "Motor Vehicles" or "Blogs/Forum" or "internet based email"

I use to get busted at work all the time for being on the HAMB.. SO I quit and I decided to make part of my career to be on the HAMB all the time...hahahaha Research of course..

I wonder what the company you work for is going to do now with all the work that will get done.. they will be overwhelmed...hahahaha Just Kidding...

  19. I get junk in my eyes on a regular basis....if Ryan really did this...with my luck, as muck as my eyes water & blink, I'd inadvertently click on every damn "what's it worth" thread.:D

Well luckily the HAMB has been kind of lame lately so you won't be missing much. There's seems to be a serious lack of good threads going on which comes in waves from what I noticed over the last three years. A little break might be just what the doctor ordered.....look at Bad Bob, he back and better then ever!

I sometimes wish that I would get blocked from the HAMB, that way I would get more work done on my car and less flapping of my gums. I just don't have the will power to stay away ahhhhhhhH!!!!!

set up a proxy on your home computer and then set your work computer's browser up to connect to websites through the proxy you set up on your home computer. you will need to know your home computer's IP address.

this method will "skip" most internet filter software since connecting to your home IP address will not be blocked and your home computer will actually be the one connecting to the HAMB.

  22. Weird thing, at my office, I can go on the H.A.M.B., but not Ebay. Here at the plant where I am temp. ***igned, the H.A.M.B. is blocked, but not Ebay. But if I log on to our network remotely, H.A.M.B. is available again. Both block ****, however...

They put a special filter on my computer at work,so I can search the net for venders and Craigs List,Ebay, etc, but no entertainment stuff at all. I can get on the HAMB,but only at lunch and break. They monitor computer time, pretty closely.
My only complaint is,that the pic's don't show. I read the text but can't see what people are talking about.

I think everyone needs to get to work and get something done. It sounds to me like we live in a society where people spend their lives on social networking sites and no work gets done. oh yeah follow me on twtter or coment on my status. haha.

    Job?
Well at least you still have one.

I HAMB it on my droid all the time (like right now) it's good for checking, commenting, but not so hot for posting photos and big stuff.

Late nights at home on the 'puter from now on.....

It really amazes me that people complain when their work blocks things that have absolutely nothing to do with their job.

Being one of those "IT guys" I hear about it all the time why someone NEEDS to be on facebook/ebay/craigslist/youtube etc etc etc....do it on your own time.

Oh and anonymouse.org is your blocked website friend.
