Well, Another rod season is about over in Mn

  1. Part of me likes the cold winter weekends when I can get out in the garage, heater cranked, stereo playing, snow falling outside and me just tinkering away on a car project with no temptations like car shows or cruises to tempt me away. And it's like nothing else to bring out a new project in the spring and see all the cool *** cars coming out of storage and cruising around town after being stored away for 6 months.

Anyways, this winter I'm getting this summer's project done, my '63 Nova g***er, then I'm stripping the paint on my '64 Chevy van and get it ready for a wild 60's/70's metalflake paintjob. Then get the red **** carpet interior in and replace the ****py front-end and transmission so I can put a few miles on it.

Got a couple projects in the garage that need some rework. The Crosley and the dragster are both getting more horsepower along with other upgrades.

  7. On Halloween last year I was driving the neighbor kids around in the modified. This year the weather has been miserable for a few weeks already. Global warming.....my *** !!

So I'm changing a few things on the car. Pics are old dash and new dash.

It's begining to cool down here in the Motor City as well. Drove the hotrod to work today, no heater or door windows yet. It was 51 degrees when I left this morning at 5:15 am. Not too bad but by the time I made it to DD for my coffee I was pretty well awake. The insurance will be changed to storage only on Monday. Tryin to get just a few more rides in before the end of the week. Winter will be good though. There are many things to be done and the reason they dont get done is cause we're havin too much fun drivin the thing around. So, mother nature will force us to do the things we need/want to get finished. But, if the streets are clear, we're drivin to Autorama in February, lol:D.

well as long as the leaves are picked up and the snow is cleared, and as long as my wood pile holds out, I will still be in the shop wrenching..just another day in the northeast

  10. **** man! We must know some of the same folks! Never made the Stupor Bowl or HomieFest but have plans to at some point. All that **** got rolling after I left the Cities back in the mid 90s.

I sold the open top car and am building a Tudor that will have a period looking rear rack to haul the singlespeed:cool: When it is done you WILL see the hotrod and bike up there!

  11. You talkin' to ME??:D
I drive my car in the winter.:) Long as there ain't a blizzard.

Here in Indy. it was 71 on sunday had the T- bucket out all day, went to a breakfast cruise in on satudray left at 6:30 am was a bit cool but once the sun came up it was good driving. I keep mine out and going as long as there is no snow, it don't do well in the snow. When it snows I'll drive the wifes '41 International pick up truck, all I have todo is clean it up when I'm done driving it.

  13. That's why there was 24,000+ miles on my Roadster... if it wasn't raining or snowing... I'd be out driving.

Thank God for winter... or I'd never maintain or improve the car!

Heh, I drove this in the middle of winter when it was a balmy 3 degrees for a high. There were no side windows, no heater, and big ole rust holes in the floor. I also drove my motorcycle some last February beating my previous cold weather ride by a bit. I rode 25 miles and the temperature was 15 below zero. The previous winter I rode my other bike 1500 miles in the snow. Just gotta bundle up a little more ;)
