This is a picture I took at the 1994 or so GoodGuys in Puyallup. I don't know who's Thunderbird this is, but it was immaculately detailed.

Yes, Nash twin 8. Nash had twin plug straight 8 from 1929 to 1941 I think. They also did a straight 6 with with twin plugs which is a bit easier to get the dizzy for as more were made than the twin 8. The front cover is from a French flathead which fits the Nash dizzy straight in, just had to make the offset adaptor to drive it.

So how does this work? Are there offset rotors that fire at the same time , or does one just fire later than the other?
Looks like the coil wires are gonna be pretty long. Don't take this as criticism, I'm just trying to understand how it functions. I think it's pretty neat..........

If it's a 57, I'm betting it's Mike Seelbinders (?spelling?) from Vancouver Washington.

Yep, It was a '57. Gorgeous car, but for some dumb reason I only took that picture of the engine.
    I'm assuming it's still around?

  11. Here's some pictures I found by doing a quick google search. The wheels suck, so I won't post the pictures. Viewer beware, the Bird isn't the only car that's in the pictures, and they definitely aren't HAMB friendly.

I saw the car in person 25 or so years ago at the ash bash in Washington. It's a really nice car, just needs different wheels.

I'm pretty sure Mike belonged to the Slo Poks.

Rotor is like a T with two ends slightly offset, so one fires slightly before the other. So plug leads for each cylinder are opposite each other on the dizzy. Dizzy has two sets of points and two condensers.
