    Guys,

Yesterday I bought my dream car - a 1956 cadillac coupe deville. Should be arriving on trailer here later this afternoon.

Im excited and also have the "what am I getting myself into" thoughts. I didnt sleep a wink lastnight. Wife isnt THRILLED, but I think shes so sick of me searching around for one that shes happy thats over haha.

Doesnt have the original engine but another supposedly good running 56 cad engine in it. Apparently just needs the usual - tires, brakes, carb rebuild and radiator to be back on the road. Minor floorpan rust but rockers and body mounts are good.

Some friends say I should get rid of my 1950 series 61 sedan to fund this - but after getting married in that Im kind of attached. I figure WORSE case scenario I can get my money back selling the coupe since theyre in more demand.

    So whatcha guys think!?!

Keep the '50 so you can chase parts for the '56.
Just about everything on a '56 is one year only ...

They're right about the Chrome co$t and everything else you need to buy . Cadillac parts are big money . I am slowly redoing a 53 Coupe DeVille and I bet your Lady will be grinning when your caddy is finished

Awesome Caddy! Sweet you finally got the dream 56. I agree that 56s are the best of any caddy hands down, but I'm biased. Lets get some pics in the day light!
