Been checking the board for a little while now and finally got off my backside and signed up. Name's Tony from Southwest, FL... Ft.Myers to be exact. I finished a triumph bobber about a year ago, but i can never keep the thing running for more than a month at a time... I've always wanted to build myself an old truck, so i figured it's about the right time... might as well pick up a broken bike form the side of the road with a classic truck, right? so as of about a week or so ago, i bought me a 52 GMC. straight six converted to a 3 on the floor. no bed, so I'll be scrapping something together. I'd love to see pics of anything and everyhing, especially trucks.

gonna try to pos a pic of my bike... don't know if this will work or not....

    thanks

I met your brother Joe Bagodonuts a long time ago when I was staying with my Uncle in North Port, Fl. [IMG]

Incidentally, while in North Port I got to exploring and took a wrong turn, ended up crossing some bridge and found myself on MLK in Ft. Meyers. A wrong turn indeed! Anyway, that was my only experiece with Ft. Meyers.

    man you guys reply fast!

thanks for the compliments. can't wait to get started on that truck. I'll post pics as soon as i get some.

yea, Deyo, if you do make it to Ft. Myers again, steer clear of MLK. We've had numerous stabbings and shootings in the last week there. doesn't sound like much, but it is in a sleepy town like this.

Truth! what's goin on man! Long time no speak is right! Yea, i know... that trump has always got something going wrong with it. Just put an alternator on it this past weekend. she's back on the road... but i know that all the gremlins aren't dormant.

  15. Were you really born with a tail? If so, what kind of tail was it? Animal? Reptilian? And also, did you have it cut off? Or, do you use it to hold your next beer?

    A month at a time?
    Does it have PMS?
Why did the alternator go out? Was the rotor touching the stator? Crooked mounting studs? Bad drive side main bearing?
Primary chain loose an floopin around?
GMCs can take a lot more than Trumpets...

None of the above... at least as far as i could tell.. think it was just older than dirt...

it think PMS does just about explain it...

    cracked oil tank,
blown head gasket (not really, but it's a long story),
    points to Boyer,
    alternator....
    etc. etc. etc.....

I don't really think it's whether GMCs can take more than triumphs, its just that when you look through the wiring on a GMC, you will never see the word "Lucas" anywhere.....

and of course, last nite on the way home from the bar, the light starts goin in and out....

    ah, Lucas... god of darkness.....
