My father had told e the willy's he got was a 45 but I called my uncle's where it is and it is a 53 willy's pickup. No big whoop to me I am going to pick it up saturday to bring it home and get to work on it. The old guy told me I can do what eer I want to it as long as he can drive it. So I am going to start knock ideas around on what to do to it but I know it ran when they picked it up and drove to so off to work I will go I figure if I have it at home I can work on it the days I am not building my other car out at my buddy trouts.

I had a 53 Willys p/u 4cyl. with 4.56 gears. It was going to cost me 900 bucks to change the gears to make it practical for driving, so I bought a rusty low milage 4wd Suburban. I shortened the frame 11", moved the engine/transfer case back and swapped the body. It was the best tow vehicle I ever had. The suburban was 3/4 ton so it road like a buck board. I had about 600 in the frame after I sold the front clip. When I grew up in the 50's every other gas station had one with a plow to clear their lot in the winter. I think they were a genuine gas station accessory. I think Rocky is building one too.
