I bought 19.5 inch rear wheels to match the front to try to give the truck a 60s feel, but I feel like the rear tires are a little bit too small. Not a lot of choices for tire sizes for these big wheels on the market. Since I'll be installing an 80's chevy truck front disc brake system in the future, I bought new front wheels to match the rears as well. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Dude, it’s parked more than it drives, you are welcome to come and use it anytime you need.
But only in the state of California.

Looks great, and even better with the Willy's loaded up and ready to go. Very nice.

I love this setup. I have a old ramp truck hauler for my Willys as well. Look forward to taking it to the track.

Mine has the 16.5's that have been on it forever. Not as many tire options but i hope to leave it this way. I have known this hauler all my life and chased it for a decade to get it. It has a winch made from a chevy starter and flywheel and a 3/8 racket extension. I love it. It does need better brakes.
I love all the old haulers especially with a willys on back.

That starter is a cool idea.

Good brakes are important to me, that's why I bought the donor 80's 1 ton.

You got a great rig going. Mine is basically a restoration on my hauler but I may update the front brakes but leave the steering and suspension stock.

@drumyn29 if you haven't heard, Dennis Passed away on New Years Eve. Incredible loss. I talked myself out of buy Dennis' car carrier and have regretted it ever since. He was my hero growing up and I later brought back the type of racecars he raced at Merced Speedway.

So I am a little late to the party, but how do you secure the car to the truck? Are there tie downs in the bed?

Yes, there are a few D-ring tie downs welded on the bed.

Just stumbled upon a great version of that original photo.

Me sitting it that very 55 Chevy racecar in 1971, I was 5 years old.

And my racecar wasn't a Nova, but a 65 Chevelle (I still have the body stashed away)
