Love that Caddy flathead! Are you selling the pickup, or what suggestions are you looking for?

If it's for sale, PM me.

  4. Put a doghouse and a flatbed on it and drive it!

thanks fellas. i dont want to sell her.lol this is how it was when i got her. The frame looks to be a car and a truck frame put together. i was thinking about shortening the rear. i like the way the back suspension looks, but do you think it will work if i keep it.Or should i scrap it and do something different? thanks..jalopy

  7. Is that a lawn chair in the cab? Maybe get a bench seat to sit on...might be a bit more comfortable. :)

I'd say put it back together without any fancy chops or drops and drive it.

Put a Plug in the missing spark plug hole. Keep out unwanted stuff. Just a suggestion. Iceman

I would go with what you got if the frame is safe and get it done. Otherwise build a tube frame with ford front end. Building an odd motor could get costly but the cool factor would be high, i would look in to what that flathead will cost to freshen up first.

Yep, do the basics to get it on the road. that will not even require a bed unless you get a good deal on one. enjoy it for a while, then go back through it once you have a true vision as to the look you think it needs. even a basic plan will take some time and $$, but too cool to let sit as is. do a search for a current post "1946 chevy PUZZLE" - you guys should stay in touch.

thanks again guys... i really like her. Whats cool is i took my now fiance to see her and she was like, baby we got to get her home and start working on this.
I got the project before i met her, and told her about it, and took her to see the truck when we first got together. But she has kinda become a car- girl now so.....she is on board..lol i am lucky..

When i got her i was think about doing the whole rat thing, but spending time on the HAME im thinking just simple with lots of cool!. jalopy

How you going to make these headers work?

  15. Actually I was thinking bed fenders and paint. maybe some glass and headlights.

I would like to build it with fenders myself but its not mine. I would definately leave the hood off and detail the hell out of the engine bay.

  16. Seems to me that the headers need to be up where the exhaust is.

Chop that cab man! It easy. I went the max on this one, before gettin stupid. No need to channel it, these cabs sit perfect stock.

I was trying to be a little less 'captain obvious' about his vision/rendering...but...this works too.

  21. Its not too late to unchannel it & build something you could actually be proud of.
