About a year ago I walked into my local Napa store to replace my timing light. Goofball behind the counter laughs and says "we haven't stocked one of those in 10 years"

  3. I worked at Kragen's 15 to 20 years ago now and most people could not use the catalogs we did technically have them but they were all too stupid to use them. I couldn't imagine working there today with a generation that grew up only with the internet. Since a parts catalog is essentially like a phone book

    Phone book what's that?
    What's a catalog?
I think I have PTSD I'm not kidding it's been 20 years and the memories haven't gotten better it seems like yesterday I was dealing with those idiots because I worked for a chain I really had no authority I had to get loss prevention or the district manager involved in anybody that I was going to fire because they didn't want to be liable if I fired someone unjustly. I am not old enough to remember when incompetence was considered a fireable offense but I have learned that in today's world it's considered an asset to be lazy or incompetent Errr !

    End rant

  4. As a punk rock connoisseur that was a little too young to see the first wave in the late seventies I definitely enjoyed it before offspring made it trendy... Cali style was where it was at from TSOL to Agent Orange or even DK when I was younger. As I got older I started learning more about politics and it's pretty hard to identify with a lot of the punk rock movement. They were no different then the hippies they spoke out against but i digress and a lot of the good psychobilly bands and rockabilly revival bands wouldn't it be around if it wasn't for the punk rock bands from way back when.
Now as a middle aged yayhole I do more traditional country and rockabilly but I definitely have my moments still with punk rock but they are more car oriented bands these days... I couldn't imagine listening to Reagan youth today they were and probably still are a bunch of idiots. Lol

There was two brothers, Pete and Repete. One day while playing at the top of the stairs Pete fell down to the landing below. Who was still upstairs?

Not to change the subject but I had a stroke on Oct 22 (my son's B-day) and spent 2 weeks in the hospital, went to the ER on the 17th of Nov. (wife's birthday) possible second stroke because of high blood pressure readings and back again on Dec. 7th (my 61st B-day) for three days in the cardiac unit because my ticker decided for some reason it wanted to beat 160 times a minute. I don't like B-days anymore! P.S. Who is still upstairs?

Pete (on a landing, still up stairs). Repete location unknown. It did not say they were both playing.

    Lets see.

We have covered our old body's aging. Depends. Other old age options. Auto parts stores. Auto parts store employees. Auto parts store inventory. Computer vs old parts catalogs. Headlight availability. Headlight brightness. Music. Music artists. Grumpy old men. Old men opinions. Old men confusion. How things were before we retired. Or after we retired. English. English teachers. Blonds. Pete & Repeat. Segue. The need of a Snickers bar. Or not. A desire to bring motor oil into the discussion.

Gee, I feel like I have missed somethings, what did I miss?

Sort of sounds like a normal HAMB post these days.

We get the repeat threads as we are all getting old. Either:

    a) we have forgotten we once posted on or started a similar thread, or
    b) we are pursuing the old persons right to recycle the same damn story over time-after-time :)

Perhaps the most repeated and least useful thread is "What car is this?". In our heart-of-hearts, we all know they are Dodges :D

    Cheers,
    Harv
