Just moved into our new 10,000 sqft building and are looking to hire our first employee to work with the owners of the company.

We pretty much work on anything that pays the bills but specialize in restoration/modification of pre 1970 Muscle cars, trucks/cruisers and hot-rods.

We do not do concourse restorations, the cars we build are meant to be driven.

    Skills we are looking for:
    - General mechanic
    - Fabrication
    - Problem solving

Location; Wylie, TX, about 20 miles North East of Dallas, TX in the suburbs.

We do not need paint and body workers.

Send me your resume and some information about yourself that is not in your resume at rob@hrclassiccars.com

After 300 applicants, 4 people interviewed and 1 offer out the door, the one qualified guy decided (OK, his wife did) that a job at the local Goodyear lube shop had more job security and that enjoying your job and the higher salary with us didn't matter..

So we're still looking, any candidates out there?

So we had someone temporary, but that has come to an end by mutual agreement.

So we are still in the market. We've sold a lot of business in the last few months and are up to our gills in work.

Check out the website for a listing of some of the projects http://www.hrclassiccars.com

We're looking to hire someone with the plan for them to become a partner in the business at some point in the near future.

We've also hired some free-lance people, including a professional engineer, to do some product development for us.

There's many talented people here in Texas. I've been fortunate to work along side a few of them. If the Local Goodyear offers more security and benefits that you do, you either need to up the pay scale or offer more benefits. People gotta live. I, for one, could't live on a low wage with the promise of being a "partner" someday.

Don't mean to offend but 300 applicants. Not one who might fit what your looking for? Really?

  16. None of the project cars on the build list seems interesting to me. No HOT RODS. :(

    You make a good point.

We paid quite a bit more than the local goodyear, but the perception is that the big brand name was more secure.

Out of all the applicants maybe 5 had some level of experience rest where dreamers, watched too much tv and now thinks they can do it for a living.

  21. Yea I'm looking, I'll send you my resume. it has nothing auto related but I don't expect you would want a broken down old rodder anyway. ;)

As a matter of fact an old rodder sounds exactly like what we need.

The resume you mailed is not much use to me.

Your hamb "resume" history is much more interesting

Yep, that's what you need. Take some of ours. We got more than enough over here

  27. Haha, that's a bit harsh Striper!:D Our economy couldn't handle it if all those dole bludgers came home.:p

  28. Well there you go. ;)

I don't apply much for mechanic/hotrod shop jobs for that reason.

But back out to the masses. Some of these younger guys need a shot.

Still looking, although we did get a couple of good responses from Hamb members already.

    What we offer:
    - successful shop with all the tools you could ever want to use
    - Pay depending on experience
    - Commission on work you sell
    - Partnership opportunity after 6 months (gives us all time to decide if we want to work together), NO buy in required!!!
    - Space and support to work on your own project
    - Paid vacation time and holidays
    - Low cost of living area, just North of Dallas
    - Flexible hours

Great skills and interest are more important than an impressive resume, someone with extensive backyard build success is a better fit than someone with a certificate.

We don't do paint and body in house, so we're not looking for those skils.
