Were is the serial number??

I have a orig. 32 frame,but i can not find a serial number on it? Looked on the k member and on the left hand frame rail in front of the firewall ? Any suggestions...

Randy, it will be on the left front rail. Rust and wear can hide what was at best a minimal stamping. Use some sand paper and gently work down the rail from the firewall forward. It'll be there.

 

I just found 2 of mine. The front one is right next to the driver side firewall "foot". and it is stamped very close to the inside edge of the rail.

The front number starts with *18- . Then there is the middle number which is 2/3rds the way back of the flat area of the frame and that one does not start with the *18- . It will only have a * plus the sequence number which is the same as the front but without the 18- . Both of these numbers end with a *. And both are on the drivers side rail.

The rear number is supposed to be on the rear spring crossmember and also does not have the 18-.

 

thanks guys, i will keep on looking,this frame has been blasted just within the past year,and who knows how many times before!

 

The stamping is very light. On both of my frames I have only been able to find the forward number. The number is on the top rail near the inner edge. It is about 4 inches ahead of the large hole where the cowl bolts on, or about 3 inches behind the hole where the steering shaft goes through the side rail. The number is *I8 - xxxxxx* or I suppose it could be *B - xxxxxx* if you have a "B".
