Been working on it since Feb 10th this year. Got about 4-5 weeks to go and the guy that donated the engine from our club wants his motor back and he's quit the club. That's not all, he also wants his quickchange rear end back.

Hope to see you all next summer

Just because he wants, does that me you have to?? Doesn't seem fair to me.

I'm bummed, you should come anyway.

Serious Bummer. You should definately come anyway. Watching the HA/GRs run will inspire you to find another engine and rear for next year.

If you guys could just get one run on it, (and let him drive it), he might change his mind.

That ****s, was looking forward to running you at Mokan!
This is one of the reasons I built mine, I did use a lot of donated parts, but they were from people I have known for years. It would really **** if they wanted their parts back, I think they would not get them.
You still need to show up and get really motivated, and the HAMB drags will definitely do that!!

That does indeed ****, I hope this doesn't put you off it. I also hope you find worthy replacements soon.

Go anyway, it'll help keep your at***ude up.

Which syllable of "donated" didn't he get? Or were his parts "loaners" from the outset?

In our group all parts are donated in and with the full understanding right up front that they'll be kept until such time as the car no longer needs'em. Only then may they be reclaimed by the donor if he still wants'em. Any offers otherwise are politely declined. We've had to turn down a couple rather desirable things but we've had to neither back-track nor suffer someones tantrums.
