This is what SM looked like a few hours ago at JR's on Main St. Everyone in Santa Maria drives cars like these. Every day is like a cruise night in Santa Maria - it's no big deal here. Well, at least it is like this on the 2nd Fri of each month at JR's.

Yes, Walt is gets down!! He'll be joining us again for the trip no doubt! Lots of laughs last year and I'm sure it'll be a repeat!

By the way...De Rosa Sr., is having a birthday! He's gonna be 83 years old on June 5th!!!
I am proud of him for still going to work and doin' his thang even with his difficulties ~ He uses horse linament on this knees...No Joke! So lucky to still have him cause I'd be lost without him to keep me straight!

Hey De Rosa Girl I need a favor. Jr. gave me his new email address at G mail .com but I don't think he wrote it down correctly. If you talk to him tell him Vallejo James is still trying to get him those pictures. Glad to hear Pops is doing well. I missed him on my last visit.

Forgot to mention in my last post, but for those of you coming North on the 101 beware of the road conditions near Santa Barbara. There is some road construction going on and traffic tends to get messy through there. Also Past Gaviota Tunnel going up Nojoqui Grade road is worn down and BUMPY. Right lane up grade has a few potholes to be careful of. I travel that road for work so if it improves I will post

 

Never can tell...I just went down there and he's already been and is gone...probably an early lunch at the Mecca getting his burrito! But you never know...he's in & out of shop depending on the mood. You know Jr. & Sr. are 10x worse than Sanford & Son

If you don't receive it before you go to the show (but I'd bet you do) they have a record of it and a picture of your car in registration. Just be ready for a good weekend with the first Santa Maria Cruise. Roger

 

Ah yes, Paso Santa Robles Maria is getting CLOSE. A few of us will be leaving the Valley Thursday, mid morning to have lunch in Ventura, and then to S.M.

Local weather dude is calling for "unstable conditions" for the show weekend. Pack your cold weather clothes, and rain gear???

 

I like Winchester's on Main street. But, I'm pretty sure they don't open for lunch on week days. But, a block or so North of there is a pretty damn good Pizza joint. Pretty good slice of pie or good meatball sandwhiches. Also, some fancy kinds of pizza that's pretty good. It's got a very large opening up front that faces the Main street passers by that's got a cool vibe to it. I don't remember the name. But, if you locate Winchester's some how, the Pizza joint's on the same side of Main St about a block or so to the North (or towards the right if you were standing in the middle of the street facing Wnchester's). I hope this helps. Were you looking to join us, or avoid ME?

 

Unless this guy has a crystal ball, that seems like a long way off to make that kind of prediction. Hope he's wrong.

You're formally invited.. Will you already be in Ventura next Thursday, or are you headed there from somewhere else?

 

We, Megan and I, arrive at LAX on Wed evening. We are leaving from that area on Thursday morning heading north. We'd like to hit KiwiKev's place before lunch but I haven't contact him to see if he's even going to be home that morning.

We are sleeping in Santa Barbara Thursday night. We want to hang out in that area and hit some vintage shop, bike ride, hang out, relax, before the crazyness of the car event starts.

We will continue to Santa Maria on Friday morning.

 

Got it. So you plan on being in Ventura before lunch. Kevin's place is a must see. It's a freakin museum. You name it, and he's got 10 of em. I'll PM you my cell#. Our plan is to leave the Valley 9.30-10 Thursday AM. It's an hour drive to Ventura for us. We usually eat lunch around 11. Are you up for that?
