I am a retired law enforcement employee living in Lubbock, TX, and I've been obsessed with cars since I was 9 years old (48 years ago). I got my first car, a '49 Ford, at age 14, and I've owned well over 100 more since then. My particular fixation is on Pontiacs, but I appreciate most American automobiles built before 1973. Since my retirement, I scour the South Plains of Texas for old cars that are suitable for restoration or useful as parts donors to further other persons' restorations. It's occasionally shocking to learn what vehicles are still around, stashed in barns and garages. I've found everything from a 1928 Chevy Capitol AA one-ton truck with 13K miles to a pink-and-white 1955 DeSoto Fireflite with 24K miles. My personal cars include a '67 GTO, '68 442, and '69 Toronado.
