damn i wish i could go, im actually going to explore a old wrecking yard off the beaten path this weekend, and maybe attending Gene Winfields class if theres still an opening. And buying and selling cars, and working on my 57, damn
is'nt there a place in Yakima where theres mountains of model A's and 32's ect. the owners are extra, extra crazy. i have photos a friend took, somewhere.... amazing!
quilceada auto wrecking has a little old stuff mostly parts for the owners cars, 67 or 8 firebird, 55 or 6 chev
Lot of stuff in Idaho for some reason. My 32 came form there. Even though I actually bought it in Denver.
His name is Earl Radisky, in Prosser. That's the guy that I know with stuff surrounded by orchards. IF he likes you its great. I have scene him bust some balls before. I bought the 32 stuff that he had and all the model T stuff that he had. I was there about a month ago and he is still waiting in his model A stuff. I see him about every two months or so. Neat stuff and a good old boy. Steve
There used to be a old man outside of yakima heading towards the columbia river that had acres of old tin 20s thru 40s just rustin away.....you could see it from the highway...I can post pics tomorrow....anybody know this place
Anyone know what happened to Vintage Auto Parts in Wodinville? That was my favorite place to be back in High School - expensive yes, rusted to shit, yes, cool old tin just the same, yes. I went to visit my mom last Thanksgiving just salivating to run through that yard again. Imagine my dissapointment when I saw they sold fucking BOATS of all things nowadays?!?! What's the world coming to? I hope they at least reduced their insane prices to try to sell off all the old tin before they crushed it all. So did anyone snag some of it, or know the ending to the Vintage Auto Parts story?
i think the yard in puyallup is south hill truck&auto wrecking 253 841 2073 they are off 128th and canyon rd., to the east.
Called Hopkins: He said that he will not crush anything of value but most of the 30's and 40's iron is long gone.
i saw an old farm south of toppinish with a bunch of old tin saw it headed to a family reunion will be going to another reunion this year and set aside time to stop and check it out kinda sounds like the place outside of yakima you guys are talking about
Just as an FYI, my bro just went by the Hopkins yard in Caldwell about two hours ago and spoke to the owner about the tin being recycled. The owner indicated he is not completly selling out, but rather getting rid of some bodies that have had panels cut off them or are already in scrap condition. I shot the Craigslist poster an email the night it came out. Seems like conflicting stories to me. I am going to take my gramps out there tomorrow afternoon to take a look around and talk to the owner in person. I will let you know if I find out anything new.
They sold out, simple as that. All the other yards in that area went away too, due a waste water treatment facility being built there - Wild West Mustang, Fitz, Woody's etc.
It's great that you guys are sharing your "secret places"! Parts will help nobody when everything gets crushed and they're gone forever.
Not to put a damper on things cause it's interesting hearing about all the old yards that are gone. But this ain't no way to find decent stuff. If somebody already knows about it, there's a reason it's still there. Ain't for sale, too much $$$, too far gone to save etc. I promise if I find a stash of stuff I'm keeping it to myself ! Greedy bast......that I am. LOL

I pass by a place in Bellingham, it looks to have about 50 cars, assorted makes. It is on the Meridian, about 5 miles north of I-5. I stopped by there once, there was no one around, so I left. Bob
I live across the street from Quil Ceda, and there closed. They retired last week and are selling the property for 1.5 million. It's too bad, now I need to travel further to get all my stupid little stuff like brackets, that coiled brake line covering and odd hardware. Probably going to put up a shit house Walmart, Homedepot or other evil empire.
