When I still worked outa Seattle I would sometimes run the train to Wenatchee. and after cashmere I saw a model a body sittin in an apple orchard. So one day I stopped the train and ran over to the only house I could see, a little old lady came out and I told her why I stopped the train at her house, she was so impressed she gave me the body for free........ Then I gave it to von flamethrower... He still hasent repaid me with a reach around to this day
Marshall owns all the vintage tin in washington... just ask him! hahahaha.. he still claims to own my deuce too! In all seriousness... Marshall does know where to find stuff. You can always try asking him.
I figured you might like to know the end of the story. I was there pulling parts off of everything I could before they closed. The owner had quite the collection of flathead ford stuff in the semi trailers on the lot. He told me that he sold all the flathead stuff and anything of really value to a guy in Colorado. He was selling off the hulks for between $40-$200 dollars. Everything else got crushed. I was only about 20 at the time or I would have dragged 10 projects home. Of all the parts I saved the only thing I have left is a rear defrost for a 67 Gm A-body.
Shit i think i was like 15 or so at the time, and couldnt get down there because of school, that sucked!
The guy with the tin South of Toppenish on 97 is my neighbor. He lost his dad last spring, Harvey was 90 something when he passed away though. He also lost his wife last week so I don't feel good about bothering him right now but I do need to get down there and see what his plans are. In the past nothing was really for sale as the state had been after them because they thought they were running an illegal wrecking yard when it was a hoard or collection but not a wrecking yard. Just a man and his son who got way carried away dragging in old tin. They did do some trades and maybe sell something to someone once in a while but not often. I have heard some rumors but don't know if there is any substance to them but see what I can find out. I'll have to take an afternoon bicycle ride in a week or so and see if I can catch him in a mood to visit. <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
If you are talking about Hopkins Auto, all those cars were crushed a couple years or more ago. He sold a lot of stuff to a buyer from Ontario and crushed anything left after a certain date. Les died in March and his son is running the place. The only thing left is a few parts that were in sheds.
im amazed at how many people dont know about Trust Salvage!!!!! Has hundreds of cars. Most pre 1965. Doesnt scrap anything old, and has countless treasures. Iv spent alot of money there. But its my secret
