Technical Wet blasting with a converted syphon pressurized sand blaster

    We had my son's 56 Chevy truck sand blasted. The guy did wet blasting as well but due to some problem with his equipment, he could only dry blast for a while. He assured us that careful application by an experienced blaster would cause no problems.
    Well, he was right...he did a good job and there were no warpage problems.

    A 56 truck body is nowhere near as valuable as a real 32 Ford body. So is it worth taking that chance?

    Something you might consider also is that the blasting will expose all the thin metal and pinholes. We are now replacing what we thought were good floorboards in the truck.

    The places on your 32 that need the best look at are the rocker panels. The backside is a semi-open area that would be easy for water to collect but hard to sandblast completely. Also up over the windshield inside.

    I would think more about having it dipped and then putting primer on it for a while so you can build it. Be especially careful to get a good coat inside those rocker panels. Then see if the primer suffers and problems during the time you are building. Even drive it in primer for awhile.
