I know the whole idea of the ford family rasing money is a great idea.....but a 100 32 dear/dueces.......

Hot rodding is trying to avoid the boyd and knock the chip off the old block....but this smells of yuppie syndrome same as harley davidson went through with the evolution motor and the yuppie craze.....

as charlie brown once said......."good grief"

the fund raising is a great thing, but ford can do better than a $ 25000 autograph. Only the high profile will play this game.....and im sorry but.....most of them aint rodders.......

So, if these investor / ***holes buy them all up and then they increase in value,

    are they still stupid?

My '32 Vicky may be rough but she's real, hope to be driving her when she turns 100, I'll only be 81 then.:)

so now will this be considered real William steel..... Not a fan, not a fan at all

  8. they will live in heated/airconditioned garages, never driven (OK maybe some but not the majority). The owners will just show them to friends, put them on trailers and push them in to exhibitions. The heritage the cars represent will mean nothing to them, just the latest "rich" thing to own.
They may go up in value they may not and I hope they don't...the Alfa Romeo ZS (Zagato coupe from the late 80s) all bought by "smart money" just like these "new 32s will be. So smart they were buying options to buy the cars for almost as much as the cars were to buy. After they were all sold by the factory they were going for twice the original price and bought by investors.....who watched the price drop like a cheap ******s *******...even now (and the cars are fabulous) they are actually affordable by normal people no more than a new, mid range family car....boy those investers were so smart.
Remember all this stuff goes in trends......late 80s an average XKE would have been $100000 2 years ago I could have bought one for less than $20000...5 years down the line a genny 32 roadster may not be so far out of our reach....who the ****s gona want a "new" one then

It is possible that a number of folks will be complete sick of 32 by the times all the various celebrations are finished.

Those wheels are as timeless as 80,s three spoke alloys. Which, incindently, melt well.

    That,s just horrid. Barf.

This is something I've been wondering about for a while now, don't mean to insult any of the '32 guys, but has the '32 roadster become todays T bucket ? There's just too many of 'em at every show, only difference is the color of paint and the style of wheels. Saw some pix. on here a while back, think it was the LA show, like 750 pix. and over 25% were '32 roadsters. Don't get me wrong, I like 'em, but when is enough enough ?

    You're not crazy.

That car was built by GM, using '32 Chevrolet front sheetmetal on a '32 Ford body and ch***is.

    Why? I'm not sure why.

But Leno owns it. It's definitely different. It's very funny that they used that car in the article, considering all the non-'32 cars that really have Deuce faces on them... and that one don't.

  17. only $25k....damn sight cheaper than a "real" 32....but you only get what you pay for!! still don't really want one....but then again.... p*** the angle grinder!
Like we gona get a chance to buy one...barret jackson auction is just a feeding frenzy.
Should I actually get one......... chuck the wheels, chuck the grill and grill shell, dump the interior and front suspension...ditch the paint work for sumat more appropriate (and not a "marketing" ***holes idea of rod paint)
and totally de-value it for the collector market..Oh and drive the ****er till it dies....Think I'll stick with my A

Here's a little bigger view of that picture. I know it still looks bad as far as picture quality.
It does look like a Chevy grill.

Ahhhhhhhh thats 25 g for the signature....charity though:)

"Incidentally, the first example isn’t the only one to get Edsel’s signature. Ten additional Dearborn Deuces will be signed for a $25,000 premium over and above the price of entry; the extra cash to be handed over to the Juvenile Diabetes chapter closest to where the buyer lives. "

Exactly. Unless one of the investors will be screwing you out of a car, what difference does it make?

    Interesting fact:

When they did the whole "most influential 32's" in the past 75 years, 16 people did not put the Doane Spencer car on their ballots...

... and how many "voters" left the Bones cars off their balllots? Talk about influential.

I'm thinking if you had Juvenile Diabetes you could give a **** what these cars looked like.

I don't care what they look like people like us won't be buying them. I think It's really cool what Ford is doing for people with juvenile diabetes. My wife has delt with the disease since she was 9 and I would buy one myself for that reason if I could afford it. I don't think this will have any impact on original 32s and who cares if a bunch of yuppie guys buy themselves some more streetrods.
