I just got my Model 6 weeks ago and I'm looking to make it a traditional rod. However, yesterday a guy who's 76 Corvette I almost bought 2 years ago called and offered me a deal - a third of what he was asking. I couldn't say no, but I also can't have 2 cars either (very long). So you creative guys out there, what could I do with a running 76 Vette with a 350 and my Model A? I must admit - I bought this over the phone yesterday, haven't seen it in years, don't even remember if it's an automatic or 4-speed. I know it's a 350 with a hi-perf cam, not much else... And my Model A is bone-stock - so you know I'm going to be replacing just about everything but the body. Any ideas? Chevy in a Ford isn't necessarily the way I was going to go, but I think I can take the engine and ****** out of the vette and still sell for more than I got it. Thanks.
If it was me, I'd sell the vette if you can make a little profit. You said "traditional" rod, and that means what? To me it means no vette IRS or IFS, no vette seats, etc. So you'd be only using a motor/trans and stuck with the rest.
agreed sell the vette at a profit and let her go. if its a cal car, i doubt its a 4 speed in that year. skull
Flip it. Or just yank the motor/trans and part the rest, if you have the time. There's nothing hamb friendly you can do with the rest of it.
Those Vettes could be a good base for a radical show rod. Lose the body, keep a few select kool parts, I'm just sayin...
Thanks guys - looks like I need to get some pictures on Craigslist. I really don't need a second project. I may take the engine and transmission and see if I can get my money back on the car.
