I swapped out the rear in my Hup over the holidays. The old arrangement was a Dana 35 from a Cherokee with Jeep springs, shocks and anti-sway bar. The car was stiff in the rear, a bit bouncy on the road and vibrated like an old fashioned electric football game. I think pinion angle had a lot to do with vibration. I scored a Jag XJ rear locally for $150 and put another $250 into new brake parts, seals and bushings. I used the stock Jag rear cage and found it to be exactly the same width as the frame rails. The radius arms worked out well too as I only had to make an adapter to attach them to the forward spring mounts. The ride now is as smooth as silk. Vibration is a thing of the past and the handling is exceptional. The addition of rear disk brakes is a big plus too. I did have to change the brakes over from DOT 3 to DOT 5 fluid but the braking difference with 4 wheel disks is noticable.
