Man we, The Delusionaires, played for the Surf Expo party last night. Let me tell you it was fucking insane. It was outdoors right in the middle of downtown. They blocked off a whole city block that has several bars. The stage was set up at the end of the street. Directly behind the stage, and I mean twenty feet maybe, was a massive ramp. I'm talking a twenty feet high ramp and a smaller ramp 50 feet opposite it. And then there were two Yamaha two stroke dirt bikes. I'm thinking they're not gonna try and jump those bike from one to the other? Yup. These two muthers had balls of steel man, it was downright scary. No hand leaps, sitting on the handlebar leaps, legs up in the air leaps. The noise when they came down on the huge steel ramp was one of the best sounds ever. Don't tell me girls don't go ape for dangerous tattoed dudes doing crazy shit on motorcycles, because they do. These guys had throngs of gushing girlies prolly ready to drop their pants in a second for them. Anyway we start to play our set and these guys start doing their thing right during our Hot Roddingest song 'Henry J'. It was truly spectacular, evil Rock'N'Roll and crazy guys on the verge of killing themselves. This was a first for me, getting to play in front of stunt cyclists, what a treat, I would've done it for free. And to top it all off the organizers actually gave us MORE money than we asked for and all the beer we could drink. It was an awesome night, I wish I had some pictures to show you. It's a night I won't soon forget.
nads, NADS! WAKE UP! its time to WORK. you musta been dreaming. you had me until you said the promotor paid you MORE.
yeah ray, you ain't kidding man. Promoters suck. I'm still waiting on $100 for a gig, and the band doesn't even exist anymore. This was a major first.
