What a shame...

    I'd be concerned about the strength of the cad frame with a convertible body on it. I've never seen a Merc convertible frame of this vintage but 49 - 54 chevy converts got an x-member that looks like it is part of a train bridge. big and beefy.

    not a big fan of frame swaps myself, but if you got to fab up a whole new floor anyways what the heck. get to channel it while your at it.

    And, I don't understand this thread. I saw this auction on eBay before I saw it on here. I'm jealous of that car and the work done to it. It looks well done. He said it was all rotted out- so... why not do a ch***is swap and keep it on the road?? :eek:

    I go shoping in my underwear, and drive a 81 caddy on a merc frame. my life F-ing rocks.
