What are the best cl***ified ads sites to find a Model A tudor for sale?
I've looked on here, The Ford Barn, and Ebay, but still haven't had any
luck finding a 28 or 29 tudor sedan that's mostly restored.
    Thanks

  2. Try contacting the local MARC (modelaford.org) or MAFCA (mafca.com) club and ask to put an ad in their newsletter. That way you will get one close to home. Try ahooga.com. Also place your general location in the post and in your profile so if anyone knows of one they can contact you.

Tudors are the hot setup a****st rat rodders ever since the Sailor Jerry car was featured in Hot Rod magazine (and Road Kill). I can't even count how many "wanted" ads I've seen for them.

  8. Get out of the house.........and hit the swap meets.
Make the contacts there. One will drop into your wallet soon.

I found mine at a Goodguys swap meet in Rhinebeck. A '28 street rodded sedan.
    Totally thrilled with it.

whole cars are EVERYWHERE in the 7-14K price swing; fully restored probably on the high end especially for a Tudor ( those nasty "hot-rod" punks like to cut 'em up)If you talk to anyone about a stocker and tell them you own a Sawzall, they'll probably hang up on you.As suggested, Model A's are all over; craigslist (look local), E-bay, ford barn,HAMB cl***ifieds( mostly hot rods and bodies). If you find one a ways off, shipping comes into play , and that could add another 1 to 1.5K to your cost.Try to stay local, they're out there. Good luck with your search. Mike from M***.

    This is a killer deal
Look in cl***ifieds on the HAMB, use the search for 1930 Tudor, one of the early times car club cars, 23k
    Sorry, link not working

Thanks everyone. I'll just keep watching on here, the Ford Barn, Ebay, etc.
I live in the middle of nowhere where there just isn't any Model A's around, or
any cl***ic cars for that matter.
There aren't any swap meets in the area that I'm aware of. We do have the Frog Follies in
Evansville, IN. in August. I've never really seen any restored Model A's there though.
It's mostly cars that need a lot of attention.

My friend found a '29 Tudor on Craig's List, sold the ch***is on Craig's List, bought a parts body on Craigs List, found a Bronco rear on Craig's List, found some F-1 wheels on Craig's List. Everything was on the local Craig's List, all within 100 miles, and all decently priced.
Seen a couple of A's at local farm auctions so far this year too.

I like searchtempest.com. It allows a search of all craigslist cities within the mileage range you choose from your home town. I got lucky and found mine 25 minutes from my house. Good luck, have patience - they pop up all the time.

  16. What about Hemmings Motor News? www.hemmings.com
Lots of overpriced restos, but there's still a deal here and there (especially in the parts section). As mentioned above, when you call most of these guys, don't tell 'em you're going to hot rod it or that you own a sawzall.

I've looked on Hemmings a few times, but haven't found anything yet.
I don't want a street or rat rod. I'm actually looking for a car to keep original. Although I do like a nicely done, non-chopped, original looking, resto-rod, I'm wanting the family to experience what is was like to take a trip to town or church the way they did 80+ years ago.

You just don't see those old cars in western KY. If they were left outside, they're a pile of rust now.
We have too much humidity, rain, and too many mobile car crushers for Model A's to survive here.
Every once and a while, I'll hear about an old car that's in dry storage, but those folks never sell them.

Not sure if you want a project or a finished car, but my daily Tudor is informally for sale. PM if interested.

That's a great looking car. That would be an awesome car to own if I were looking for a streetrod.
I'm looking for an original Model A.

I am looking hard for the right Model A.
I saw this car on the cl***ifieds. I'm not wanting a major project.
It has the wrong hood on it, the front wheels are wrong, no interior, and it isn't running.
I might have still considered it if it had been repainted black, but I'd have to get it dipped
to get all that blue paint off of it.

It honestly sounds like you live in the sort of place I leave the big city TO COME TO to look for vintage cars. They are all over the place if you look. Have you tried posting a handwritten ad on any local bulletin boards? Asking the old neighbor down the street if knows of anything? The guy at the gas station or mechanics shop in town?

I say this not to pile on, but I have had this conversation many times with guys in small towns several states away when I stopped places in my cars. One case, a youngish guy at a gas station in a small town in Colorado saw my Plymouth and said, "I sure wish there was old cars around here to work on..." Before he finished his thought, I walked him to the end of the service drive and pointed out a Model "A", a '54 Chevy truck, and an early fifties Plymouth all within 500' of where we were standing. I had spotted these cars just driving through town. They are all over the place!!! Just look...
