What are the freakin' odds? Thanks to a good Samaritan.

1. Matt, What you did was awesome in what seems to be a "selfish, whats in it for me" world.
I see this was your first post.
Welcome aboard and hope you can stay around. The board needs folks like you.

Matt,
</O:p
I’ve read this since the beginning. You've made thousands of friends this week even if you never get to meet most of them.<O:p</O:p

I go through Gibson City once every couple of years. We live in central Missouri and Sherry's from the Frankfort/Mokena area. Sometimes when we're travelling between Columbia and Frankfort we come up 54 from Springfield to Onarga.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

I'd consider it a great privilege if you'd allow me to drop in some day unannounced and buy you a cold beverage of your choice.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

There’s an analogy between your kindness and a quote by someone most of us hold in great regard: “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

It sort of feels like even though we weren’t there in person that you were reaching out to all of us.

Oh, yes, welcome to the H.A.M.B.<O:p</O:p

There must be something in the water there...One of the best guys I ever had the pleasure of serving with in the military was from Gibson City, IL. I haven't heard of that place in almost 20 years, but he always talked about it constantly back then. I'm glad your potentially bad experience turned into a great one.

Not totally HAMB friendly but here go's, when I went to the 2nd power tour show that was in tinley park that year I was coming back after it was over in my Galaxie. On the ramp that go's from I-80 east to the 294 north toll my water pump blew. After I coasted to a stop and yelled at myself for not bringing my cellphone! [my fault!] I'm like well NOW WHAT? Then a little Cobra with 2 guys from Wisc. stop and let me use their phone! I ask them do you want anything for the call? NO! JUST HAD TO HELP OUT A FELLOW HOTRODDER!! They are out there! Next time it may be you! [helping or being helped!!]

I too have story like yours, radiator and all.... Heading to WCK Paso run back in the 90's cruising down I-5 I blew the top off of the radiator in my '52 Kaiser and if it wasn't for Tino Gomez I might still be there.
Matt you are one of the few nice guys and THANKS from a fellow H.A.M.B.er.
