I've had red rims on my cars for 50 years, but always have full hubcaps. Is there any other color that would look better????...........OLDBEET

I like them but then, for me that is, it depends on the them of the rest of the car. Sometimes they seem to make the car and other times they seem to break the car. Look at the overall image you're trying to build and see, in your mind's eye, if red rims will suit that image. Look at all the photos from shows that the guys post here and see if there's anything getting close to what you want to see if it works.

I always say to myself, and my wife, f$$k everyone else and their opinion. I do what I want. I don't like to blend in and go with the flow. I do my own thing if it makes me stand out or not. When I do ask for opinions, it's so that I can take bits and pieces thereof to formulate my own or I don't know enough about the topic at hand.

I have red rims, but they match my red car, and they've got hubcaps and rings on as well. I didn't do it to be trendy. Just did it cause I thought it'd work good. Most part-time car people mistake them for stock, but they're a few years ahead of themselves. Just a 62, sorry folks. No 69 dodge nonsense here. :D

I put 6 lug truck rallyes on my 67 gmc, and it just didnt look right with them silver. I painted them red and it gives the truck some attitude. I do think it is getting to be a bit over done, but its all about what you like. I seen a few guys running lime green wheels and that looked pretty cool.

I remember reading this quote once.

After 75 years, only the HAMB could make red wheels uncool.

I am going to have red rims on my T truck. They are 16" steelies. They were painted red when I bought them anf figure there is no reason to spend my money to repaint them so thay are staying red.

If you're gonna go red, make sure its the "right red" and not some bright, rosy, clown, electric red. thanx.

It depends on the car ...
Every pre WWII car I have ever owned ended up with RED RIMS ... but every one ended up with a BLACK body also. Pre WWII Black car, red rims ... usually looks good. :D

Other colors can look good also ... just paint them RED ... if you do not like it ... try something else.

Not much that is more traditional than red rims...at least on an early Fifties type rod. They may be "over done", but so are a lot of things that are traditional.

I like em as well as any color, but like lowcab said, just that little bit sticking out from behind a set of Moons is perfecto. Otherwise, it's just another painted wheel.
