    Hello guys,

My car ran these Firestone tires on the salt back in 1958. I want to put on a set that look the same.... but I don't think they are regular production tires are they?

The logo looks way bigger than anything I've seen.

Anyone have any ideas what they are and how I can find (or recreate) them?

    THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP!

    Josh

    HRP,

Thanks for the input! It looks like all their Firestones have much smaller logos... But I'll call to verify.

I'm not sure if these are a now obsolete production (street) tire, or if they were a specific racing tire for racing only (Bonneville/Daytona/Nascar)?

Lastly... I wonder if the name is stenciled on? Like the old drag tires? The numbers and letters just look too big to be production don't they?

Here is a larger shot for perspective on the logo size:

IMHO I am thinking old Indy/Sprinter style racing tires. "Firestone Deluxe Champion"

    WOW... Thanks!
I have found a ton of info on the production version in '58, but they all have the small logo. Your photo looks dead-on. I'll take your advice and try some vintage racer sites.

    THANK YOU for the help!

If anyone knows anything else please post.... thanks!

A couple I found in my pictures.

The black letter looks like the Coker Firestone Dirt Track tire.

Those things have to be NOS right?

I know people can shave the sidewalls and polish the sides... then I guess I could paint the logo on.

    Is there any other way?
