    Scott-

It I was you, I would be trying to squeeze a few more horsepower out of that motor instead of making these cute little pictures.

I understand if you are hitting a wall on the HP...it is hard to polish a turd!

From back where you're gonna be,you won't be able to see very good;)

It's like we need two different threads...one for guys to talk about what they're doing to get ready for the Drags, and another for the girls to make their cute pictures

Sorry.Didnt realize you were so easily offended Jim.

Also didn't realize you were Chief of the HAMB Cops.

I know it's not "Drag Week" or anything, but these guys like to have a little fun once in a while.

    Scott

Ps: The other girl who offended you with a couple of humourous posts also happens to be the guy who's in charge of your registration for the Meltdown.....

    Crickets.......

You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.
I saw that on here as someone's signature and every time I hear someone talk about polishing a turd that is all I can think of :)

    Nicely played Jim....

I am going to let the Okie Doker do the talking at the Meltdown with it teaches the Lakeshore Shafter Cumstang a lesson.

Scott - do you want me to make sure the carburetor tuning guy is there to tune your car for you? I already asked AJ to make sure he has his toe rope... need anything else? I want to make your embarrassment as comfortable as possible.

I'm not offended, I'm just not interested in seeing the cute pictures. I am interested in what guys are doing to get ready for the Drags. Trash talking doesn't do anything for me, whether or not it's serious.

I guess I just didn't realize that some guys get ready for the drags by talking. I usually do it by working on my car.

That's 500 cubes and hopefully more than 500 horse just so I can keep up with the jaws of the Okey Donkey and the Powdershifter.[IMG]

    Hahahaa!

AJ having the tow rope on standby is ALWAYS a good idea when I bring my junk to the Meltdown!:)

I have the carburetor issue dialed in pretty good this time around,as these ones didn't come from Holley with half the linkage assembled inside out. What a fiasco that was.
Although,Gary was a great guy,and when I do stub my dink while I try to "supertune" the carbs,I will definitely be looking for him to throw me a life preserver while I'm sinking...

And unless you picked up a Turbonique rocket axle for the Floaty Boater, you might as well put a DVD player in that thing, cause you're gonna want something to do on that loooooooong ride following me to the big end of the track;)

Careful about posting any kind of picture though.....If it's not Jim's idea of fun,it's strictly verboten!:(

    Well Jim,
I'm building a cute little 289,backed by a cute little faceplated Toploader, and some cute little 4.56 gears.
It's all I have the budget for at the moment,so I'm trying to make "Chicken salad outta Chicken Shit",as Ric likes to say...

Like I said earlier, this whole thread is about having fun, keeping in contact with other buddies from the Meltdown, keeping each other updated on our build progress, and, whether you like it or not, talking shit to each other!
It's a HUGE part of getting ready for the Meltdown!Did you just start following this thread today or something? Its all these freaking guys do!lol!

It's all very lighthearted fun by way of smack-talk.

If you don't like it,that's a shame, but you're gonna have a VERY long road ahead of you if you think it's bad now!Its only January!:D

I bet those late model cars and ricers wouldn't know what hit em!

Let's hear more about the Gigantor Mopar.:)

  18. We are all getting ready for the 2015 Meltdown Drags. Sometimes there's visible construction progress. Sometimes there's weight reducing modifications. Sometimes its shared HP or tuning tricks. Sometimes its even illustrated with pictures. Sometimes its super top secret way way above my pay grade and not discussed here. Sometimes its smack talk to help keep some motivated. Sometimes its quietly watching and lurking in the weeds... All is welcome here, and we are all going to be READY for 2015!

I'm mostly in the super top secret category AJ,that's why I have very few pictures going up of build progress lately.....You can only see so many pics of my hacked up,rusty parts laying on the floor before the yawning starts:)

I hope to have some real solid progress to show in the next month or so.
As well as keeping a few of those weight reduction tricks up my sleeve:D

  22. Hey Chicken Choker, this race between you and the LiquorStore Shanker, is this gonna be a real race, or a pretend race where Scott gives you the tree and the stripe like KFC did last year?

You guys know how the weight reduction process works don't you.
You take the parts and throw them in the air and if it comes back down its to heavy.

Back to the regularly scheduled programming in a minute - in the mean time allow me to interrupt with an actual : What I'm doing to get ready... post.

After my fiasco the last 2 events where I dropped a $15k motor into the Scout just so I could go slower... I've decided to throw even more money at the fuel delivery problems. Out comes the -8 lines / Holley billet pump and in goes the Maganafuel Quickstar with -10 lines to the Magnafuel boost referenced 4 port regulator (Cha-ching cha-ching). This should allow me to have a little more than 3 pound fuel pressure at the top end and maybe even a chance to up the boost. I also plan to upgrade the rad to something that will allow me to drive back to the pits without spewing fluids all over. Maybe even an uninterupted drive to SAM's.

If this wasn't enough - the Scout has a new 24' x 8' clubhouse and new (to me) 06 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab with a turbo cummins.

The Prefect should have the transmission issues sorted out and be ready to rumble in anger. Last year my brother slipped first gear for about 200 ft then shifted into 2nd and eased into it through the lights... still went 100 mph. Hoping for very low 10's in that rusty little monster

If you see a short fat older looking guy waving a Canadian flag and holding his hat out for donations...that would be me...
