It should be coming out of hiding soon too.If I had to guess,I would say that if Brent Hajek doesn't have it yet,he probably won't rest until he does...lol

So my accomplishment list for today looks like this:
    -remove axles from housing
-remove brakes and backing plates from housing
    -pull Center section from housing
-measure 99 times and mark axle tube for cut
-mark out areas in frame to be cut with template
-cut passenger side and grind and clearance as needed til happy with fit
    -mock up passenger side spring
-clean up my mess for 2 hrs

Feel like I am getting very, very far behind schedule here.....Time is not my friend right now.

Scott, been emailing Lee Holman. Got email from him last Monday saying they got some SBF valve covers in. Called HM up & talked to Lee, I ordered valve covers & air cleaner! UPS dropped them off last night. Just got them on, had to get longer valve cover bolts & couple intake bolts too with couple spacers. Man I'm jazzed! They look F'ing beautiful on there!!!!
CANT WAIT FOR JULY TO GET HERE!!!!

man.. that's gonna be very hard to top.. the T-coupe is the most badass thing I've ever seen..yeah some pics would be super cool.
I'm just gonna try and make the trip without killing parts this year.(DOH!)
I took the timing out of it I had been sneaking in(that's what caused the detonation) and turned the blower down some more.. (yuk) and I just plan on some E-Z passes (yeah right) at first to make sure I still have a ride home ! the 330+ mile trip home sunday is ruff, after all the fun !! I drive the thing to work (like you do) and we take it on trips, and go to rod runs and stuff too.

oh, it's in the trunk !
race gas, uh, pain in the ass, not tuned for it.plus i would have to have somebody carry jugs, and i would have to find a way to drain fuel tank. too much work for me!!
I use straight alky in my snow performance injection, on top of the premium unleaded.
i think just leave the blower turned down (20 PSI) ,and leave the timing out (28 degrees) and i might make it. we tuned this thing for three days (approx 25+ hours of beating the snot out of it) ,and 28 degrees was the number, but i hated the way it sounded. so i "snuck" 2 degrees, here and there back in it,and it was @ 38 degrees when i was at the melt downs. DOH! I thought it was cool to >>"peg the dyno" turns out, just making the thing live is more difficult. been to valve train survival school with this thing, lots of mods there. i could write a book<< my super dooper tuner guy,(Scott Clark, world renowned super tuner) made me change the pulley after a short blast on the dyno. (was making 44 PSI Max.) then another pulley change,as the thing was still a little silly, and was spitting the head gaskets out (copper, with o-rings,and receiver grooves,ARP studs ) then it was destroying the wrist pins,(bending them, and distorting the pistons, and killing the wrist pin bushings) had to go with .250" wall, casidiam coated.. it's been a real learning curve. for real. a stripped 10-71 on a 354, yep, it's gonna make boost. It tuliped the front 4 intake valves at the melt down,(that's why it "sneezed" and quit, intake valves got REAL TIGHT,and were held open.. ) so i took the lash out of them for the ride home,,,And the only reason i pulled the pistons out for a look ,was at your suggestion,(thank you) glad i did, 7 pistons had the ring lands lifted. (J-E Loves me!(DOH!) with this thing, survival is the main concern, and has been the test for me. (the way i drive it,doesn't help) valve train has been the worse part.
only good thing about breaking so many engine parts, i can take it apart in about 20 minutes, and put it back together pretty quick too !! (not sure that's a good thing) maybe i could work for john force !! LOL

well, what the heck kind of car is it ? i can't tell from the pics, but judging from the craftsmanship on the T coupe, I know it'll be top notch quality. and since you're sick in the head like me, i know it'll be wild!

  15. Please do write a book! :) Its like looking for the lost dead sea scrolls when trying to find out how to run big springs and rollers on these old hemi's. What rockers are you running and what springs? Valves ? Solid roller?

Yeah, solid roller cams, I have billet titan rockers, but that wasn't the problem... >>>>OIL _OIL_OIL !! That's the "secret",I modified the thing to get 100% oil ,100% of the time, but that required some serious drain back. I was killing rocker arms, push rods, and springs, non-stop..also drilled the rockers to shoot oil on the springs, roller tips, and push rods. (yeah, i burned push rods out of it too)
i am running PAC springs, lightened up (were 300# on the seat, now 260#) FERREA valves, and retainers, (broke the crower retainers, yeah, that hurt)
i am running .770" lift (2nd cam shaft,it's an ISKY . first one was .800" + crane ) the thing will easily turn 10K RPMS,and is very happy about it, but makes me nervous, and ALWAYS breaks a spring when I do that.dang it ! seems if iI keep it under 9500, I'm o.k. ,then >finally killed a roller lifter, and destroyed the cam, but it made a great mail box post ! I also learned a bunch about static, and dynamic oil levels!! who wouldda thunk it ??
i tried to down load some pics, but it says there are too big(?) can ya tell me how to be able to do pics? (arghhh, i hate being computer stupid, maybe i can get a 7 year old here to show me??)
I would be very happy to share my experiences, but i need to send pics !! If I could save someone 2% of the grief I have been through, that would be awesome !!

If ol Greg keeps on ridin' the trigger on that 1911,you won't have to worry about using that pulley,or his left hand, ever again.lol

    HA-HA-HA!!
I about peed my pants when he sent me that picture.. he was sending a ransom note, and holding it hostage !!too funny !!
you could go like 120 +, mash the gas,and smoke the tires ! cool, but eats parts.
wow-wow-wow...too cool, you guys rock !

  22. What heads u running? I have hot heads heads and a .200 longer valve on mine and I run missile billet rockers with .200 taller stands to get the rocker geometry correct. My cam isn't big enough to need them to be that tall but I didn't want to buy anything twice so if I ever do go really big I can.

  23. And yes minor valve cover clearance problems with my set up also just had to do some grinding around the spark plug tube area but nothing major

yeah, it has +.100" valves, and valve cover spacers.it also has 5 strips on each lobe.i had not seen that beforei assume they are gone (?) but it still makes boost consistently. so i don't care.. yeah, roger that, lots of maintenance, valve train maintenance i often wonder if it's worth it.
Cheryl, my princess, has about 600 laps on her 327,and i drive it to work every day,and we take it on vacations..she built that one.. cheryl at melt down 2014.jpg maybe that's the secret ! cheryl engine builder.jpg

i have the hot heads too.. i think WAR(?) heads? they were raw,and had teeny tiny ports,if you have the geometry right, you're golden, because you can't change it without changing the stands, then the stupid pushrods hit stuff.. etc..my rockers just barely ding the push rod tubes. had to put push rod tubes in there to align the holes with the push rod.. they were rubbing everything ! mine took about a zilloin hours to port them. master porter guy mike litzau did them, they flow insane numbers.>> mike is the engine guy/crew on the willie borsche winged express car.he is a genius.

yeah, i had zero chance of getting the covers on, i had to use the 1" spacers, and got tired of fooling with the double gaskets, so i welded them to the valve covers, and resurfaced them. I also had to drill my rockers, for oil to the push rod,and to the roller tip/spring. the intakes were suffering the worst,as they get oil after the lower exhaust shaft is full. ,and bush them, leaving a cavity in the center for oiling.. as the needle bearings didn't last but a few minutes on the street with stock oiling configuration.(titan pump @120 PSI) the rockers (in stock configuration) only get oil for that milli-second the cam drilled hole is aligned with the cam bearing hole. I made mine full time, and (knock on wood) been good since. but that required a #12 drain back hose in each head(a really long story about static vs. dynamic oil level) i simply tapped into the main oil galley that goes to the gauge (under distributor).and then drilled into the block in the valley, in the oil supply castings,on each bank(cam bearing #2&#4) and fed them with a #3 line. hope that helps everyone in hemi-land !

  27. Wow! You can write a book! :) Really appreciate this info. I have Missile rockers with 1.7 ratio intake and 1.5 exhaust. Steve Lanius says they just started making 1.7 ratio.
All of our hemi stories must be long stories - but my heads are still at the porting shop - since November - Hot Heads wet heads. They are going to be trick but time is wasting so for this first go around my 392 is going to run ported iron heads. But then with roller lifter spring rates, the springs, valves are all being re-done for like the 3rd time o_O nothing like learning as you go. The new roller cam for the iron heads should be in this week.

As for pictures that are too big, I take the picture on my iPhone, then email it to myself - it asks if you want is smaller like 300KB so choose the smaller size. Then it will fit on the HAMB. Other pics that I already have, I use Fotosizer to shrink the size of the files.

This is from my iPhone - also if it won't upload, try the "More Options" button on the lower right. The same pics will sometimes upload in that window. Must be a HAMB Bug.

    man, that's a pretty set up !
i'll try and send some pics when i get home, maybe i can find options to"shrink" pics.
all the pics are on my computer at home.
trust me, i can't write a book because i'm smart,... i can because i've learned the hard way !!

    oh yeah, i don't have an I phone either...soo.....
laos, maybe pm me your # and a good time to call, i can tell ya more, i am not a great writer !
