That was the original plan AJ,but apparently Jeff was more worried about the light weight/deep gear/high rpm combo of the Shaker than he admitted.
The fear of the Shaker motivated him to bring in lightweight pro drivers, pit crews/exotic dancers, and mascots.

I think Jeff is planning a full John Force-style assault on the Meltdown.

I'm not sure I've got the financial backing to compete with that kind of operation. The poor lil Ol Shaker is just going to have to do its best against the Team Okie Doker juggernaut....;)

    AJ:
I've been pretty quiet lately cause I'm dead tired from this night shift and haven't been posting much.Tonight is night 86,and thankfully it's the last one for a few weeks.

Then I'll be back to my normal sarcastic, chirpy self. :D

It looks kinda like it's done up as a Stock Eliminator car....That's pretty neat.:)

I've always had a soft spot for Pontiac Stock and SuperStock cars.Catalinas,Tempests,GTOs....Those cars all made a huge impact on drag racing, and on me as a kid discovering old drag racing mags from the early 60's in an antique store back in the early 80's.

Scott you need to go back and check your post count on this one. It looks like it should be called ( Let me tell you a little story about a Drag race at the Meltdown and how it created a monster.)

  10. Thanks Scott - that engine works way better than I ever expected - all of Ric's low tension ring, crank scrapper tricks kicked in :) just wish Weisco could have given me 15:1 instead of the 11.6: it ended up with.

  13. Way to.go Tony, what kind of ET's/MPH did you get out of her on the first outing?

  14. I think it was like 80 something MPH and 7.70 - stuff was all over the place though was real hard to make my brain tell everything to move fast enough. 60 Ft was 1.60 I think. Felt the wheels lift one time.

  20. That was Johnny's No-va. Jeff's car has all that diamond tuck gay bar interior & a water bed in the trunk, not to mention the moon tank is full of matching nail polish for the paint job aaaand a glove box full of spare shifters for when Erwreck teaches him how to drive.

Ok screw it.....I might as well let the cat outta the bag here.

Miss Cassandra Hicks is not just an extremely pretty face. All of you guys have seen her winning the pinup contest etc,but she is also a really talented graphic artist.

I saw a photo a while back of Mickey Thompson painting little tombstones on the side of his Mach 1's trailer around '69,and I thought it was so cool, that I asked her if she wanted the job of whipping a few up for me!:)

She's been busy with a bunch of jobs booked in ahead of me,and with SEG events kicking off the season down south, and I've been busy working 86 night shifts in a row,so I haven't talked to her in a while.I will throw a picture up here once she gets some completed.

Damn....I was hoping to keep this a secret, but I don't want people thinking I stole this idea,so I had to come out and fess up....lol

How cute, Scotty and Ricky have code words... Let me get my secret decoder ring..... Yep, just what I thought they were saying "we are both in trouble against the Okie Doker and the Hairy Hauler... Let's cancel going and give our spots to the guys on the waiting list"
