This has been a bad month and is still snow balling down hill. I lost my week of vacation to a senior employee so I will be showing up on Friday night. A good friend of mine his health is starting to fail him and is now in a nursing home, he offered me his house so I am buying it and will be moving in to it June or July. The wife wants to remodel the house. So what I don't have done on the Fury may not get done.

Jim you should be fine on waxing your hood most clears now days are full cure in like a week or less. Now 15-20 years ago yea they took months to full cure unless baked.

  5. The word Child is often associated with hard running manual trans Tri-5 Chevy's.., the other ones with automatics are often referred to as "little candy bitches". You probably couldn't hear the announcer referring to the "Brakie Stucker" as such because of the thunder of Eric's manually shifted man car, and your own word hole blasting unsavory things at your 99 Cent Store line lock.., Hmmm! ;)

Got a ( little candy red Sumabitch ) with a Glide. :p Lots of competitive Tri-5 Chevys running hydramatics back in the day.;) Powerglides or Powerslides (what we used to call them) were not wanted back then.

At the risk of changing direction too drastically here,I could use some help:
I've been trying to get ahold of Mark Hamilton at MAD Enterprises to buy his trunk mount battery kit, battery disconnect, relay kits, terminal block, etc, but there is no answer the dozen or so times I have called, and there is no email address on the web site.
Anybody out in sunny California know if Mark is doing ok?Last I heard he was battling some health issues.
If I could get this stuff ordered it would be a big step in getting the car wrapped up.

  10. Knew you'd like it better than flowers & chocolate cake. I've been on a sabbatical, writing a new book.., "Okie Doker, Jabs & Pokers". I decided to test run a couple ideas here.
    Happy Tuesday Sunshine! :)

  11. Sorry man, I don't know this guy. Remember, battery on the left corner of the trunk! If I get to Byron and see the battery on the right corner.., well.., you'll be dead to my eyes.

I sort of understand that, rotational direction of the torque, etc, but can't get over the fact that my big fat ass is on the left side of the car already.
It just seems like going to Home Depot and piling all the lumber on one side of your truck, know what I mean?
It just seems like all the weight is going to be very unevenly distributed.
    Maybe I'm on glue.lol!

    Lmao!

I'm just sayin' man......can we split the difference and center it like Dick Brannan had his in the "Bronco" long nose car?Even Gas Ronda had his on the passenger side..... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1432063313.737573.jpg

Of course,I would have filled that spare tire with water for ballast, too, with those rock-hard old tires,but.....Oh,never mind!lol!

  16. That's a Fabcraft Metalworks.Fabcraft is a company owned by Brad & Sue Duerst who makes MANY Olds/Pont. repro parts.I get all my Olds rear axle parts from him and his lovely wife Sue.They are great people and have great products.I also have Brads book "Building and Racing the 57-64 Pontiac/Olds Rear End" book which is the bible for the Olds/Pontiac rear end I run. They were at The Meltdown a couple years ago!

  17. They also used wide, high tension piston rings with the second ring gaps tighter than the top back in
the "olden days". The weight on the left is most effective right next to the left wheel tub, over the axle tube. The back left corner would be second choice. Your fat ass 6-7 feet away, is not really combating the issue. How many left side driver, right rear corner battery cars have you seen that drop the right rear, and hoist the left front when they leave?.., too many to count. Gas is a bad ass, and a handsome fellow too, but he didn't walk on water, so maybe even he left a few cards on the table?

By the looks of it, that guy has several batteries in the right rear and a stock x-frame. Nothin' like using the corner of the bumper for a wheelie bar!
