I love this thing....So, how many folks think that's a little Chevy in there???

As for what I'm doing with my ride(s) right now...Waiting on the painter, s****ing up money for him, and watching my Ranchero collect dust...oh, yeah, and staring at my coupe body and dreaming...

pulled the interior, wire wheeled and lined the floorboards, painted the reveal moldings and finished detailing the dash. I also went through my trim pile and began looking for good trim to back on her.

Got a small jigsaw and a drill press this weekend, made a little room for those in the shed. damn space is getting tight. Pulled the intake off the flathead in preperation for pulling the motor. I'll need to fashon a 1/4 inch plate with hooks in place of the intake to chain to. Went down and picked up some 2" x 3" square tubing to make the motor mounts... thats about it for this weekend.

Built bellyburner pipes for the 51 chevy pickup ! Raised the fenderwells up a 1 1/2 inches on it also , Diagnosed a bad tierod end on the rear wishbone set up on my coop , & cruised my yard on my craftsman yard roadster for nearly a hour ! Cooked some bbq & drank some cheap beer !

Went and got my 49 from the detail shop ( very dirty)Replaced the burned out right headlight in my in it( argh bought two so they would match) Mounted my vintage front license plate insert and frame on my Nomad.. The 62 Mercury just drove it and enjoyed the sun. Then put new tires and frame decals and front head badge on my 1951 Schwinn D97X.

Thank you so much! It's a '62 Buick Special Deluxe, V8, 215. There is a breather hose coming from the rocker arm cover which smokes excessively. It is three feet long, and goes straight down and ends at the bottom of the engine where the smoke pours out. Is that how it should be? (Waiting for the manual to arrive...)

Going to tear the engine down and start cleaning and inspecting all the parts. Make a list of what's good, what needs replacing, machining etc.

welded drop mounts for the front leaves of the Falcon g***er-4 inches more lift, pulled # 3 and #5 leaves from the packs to get a reasonable rate for the front.

Mocked up the temp steering and if the weather holds tomorrow we'll tunnel through the oil pan for a drag ling that doesn't look like a hockey stick (no lie- last 3inches of the temp drag link have a 6 inch offset)

After spending the last couple months working on my mother's 1947 Merc (in my avatar and posted earlier in this thread), I've finally had a little time to work on my '34 Chevy Town Sedan. For the first time since I've been working on it, I finally have the body all on color - beautiful gray high build primer! I still have to complete a little work on the trunk lid, hood, and doors but they are almost done.
It's been a long way to this stage - squaring the body back up, building a floor, replacing the wood with steel, fixing a mangled top chop, filling the roof, making tons of patch panels, etc...

I started blocking it tonight. I'm finding a couple sins, but nothing major. If time holds out and all goes well, I'm hoping to put the body in black single stage in the next week or so. It won't be the final black, but will tell me if there's any lurkers in the body work before final black base/clear goes on. Once I'm pleased with the single stage, the body will come back off the ch***is so I can finish the welding and grind, sand, and paint it. With a little luck, I might actually have this done sometime next year!

Pulled the steering wheel, and started dis-***embling the dash. But I dont want to pull the column or steering box until I am ready to put a floor in next spring, have to keep it mobile till then, so I can push it out of the garage to sandblast the floor. Dont want to do it now as it will rust up again over the winter. Its kind of difficult to really move forward till I can get the floor in, and I dont want to do that at this time, too damp at this time of year.

  27. going to change belts and hoses, flush radiator, change plugs and wires. We'll see if I get time to do all of that.
