What are you getting done this Memorial Day weekend?

  1. Put up the flag, my brother came over and did some painting on my house. Shot the shit for a while.
Checked my lottery tickets, did not win lottery.
Smoked 2 cigarettes, vowed to quit and resisted temptation to go buy some more.
Stared at a couple of pending projects and shrugged.
    Checked wallet contents.
Wondered why neither the A's nor the Giants were playing today.
Called some friends on the phone.
    Started the fire.
Took in the flag at sundown.
Grilled a rib-eye and made dinner for my dear, sweet mother.

Hauled 2 pickup loads of trash and other crap outof my horse barn on Sat. Worked on a couple of pairs of spurs with my son on Sunday afternoon. Picked up an old flatbed that my B-in-Law had for my sons 60 Ford PU on Monday, will also get a 390 that he's got to replace the 223.

I went to a car show, visited some friends, shaved my antenna, and drank lots. All in all, it was a great weekend.

  6. Finished up the second t-bucket body in 2 weeks, repaired 30 year old trailer brakes, dunked a few SBC heads in molasses, I'll see them again in about 2 months, ate me some crawfish before they go out of season, shot the shit with DV8 and watched There will be Blood on DVD. DDL is a creepy fucker.

  9. Helped a buddy bend new a fuel line (the old one was 1/4" copper water line with brass compression fittings!) for his 54 Willys truck, got out in the Biscayne for an inaugural cruise with both little ones. Great time!

Planning on doing a little cruising this weekend I took my roadster down to the gas station to fill it up (for the first time since i bought it) with gas. As soon as the tank was getting full I noticed a steady stream of gas running out on the ground:( I hurried home and drained the tank so i could pull it out. After I got it out I could see that 75 years of rain collecting between the tank itself and the mounting bracket welded to it had finally rusted through. So now I'm in the process of matching the paint so I can put a replacement tank in. Who would thought the thing would only last 75 years. Damn cheap Fords anyway:D

I flushed the brake lines on my 49 Buick and installed the brake cylinders I rebuilt. Also lubed the front end and added fluid to the shocks. I hope to drive it to the HAMB bash on June 21.
