I really didn't get much done this weekend... for the second week in a row.. Had a funeral on the wifes side which pretty much killed most of the weekend.... Piddled around a little bit in the shop but not much, got some "day job" work done so that I might have it a little slack this week.... I'd like to break in the new motor this week and drive it this weekend... that'd be nice...

I got my dropped axle mocked up:

And today I bent up and trimmed the headlite mounts.

Pulled the body off one of my S10 frame doners. Pretty easy unless you are trying to save the wiring harness...didn't cut myself or anything this time,

Getting serious about getting the body lifted off the chassis on the 50 Merc...the new chassis is almost ready for the body so it's time to get the body prepped. Sure will be nice to have this car all in 1 bay of the garage!
Whenever the chassis comes out from under this car it will be for sale...it has the gas tank, rear suspension, 3-spd OD trans, pedals, and steering. The wheels all turn freely, no hung brakes. Get your bids in early, if this doesn't sell quick then it's off to the scrap heap.

I did bearings and seals on my front end and worked on getting the discs mounted. I think the front hub spacers are coming off to get trimmed down a little since I am in dire need of fender clearance now. only can loose 1/4" off them but every bit will help

  6. The Paint and Primer show was yesterday here, so all last week I was trying to bust ass and get stuff done before the show, the first for this car. I got the 4" blocks in and 1 coil cut (each side) by Wed nite. Friday night I stayed after at the shop, managed to get the dual carbs, split manifold on, get the exhaust halfassed and still make it home by 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the show was great, got some pinstriping on the dash to "kool" it up a little. This morning I popped the back brake line, lost brakes, guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow night eh?

Well the Model T has been setting in the back yard for two months collecting black widow spyder webs. This is the first weekend that it has not been in the 100+ degree temps. in Bakersfield, so I got off my ass and sprayed under the T with Raid and then jumped in and it started on the second try. I may drive it to work tomorrow to give it some exercise.

Hammered the stubborn perch bolt out of my feebie dropped axle. BFH and heat did the job after about an hour. Mounted a couple of the WWW I got and put them on the A frame. Rolled it outside for a pic. Now if I can just get the front spring made and get the dropped axle under it...

Well this weekend I found what I think is a killer switch for my old Gasser Plymouth Coupe at Randolph swapmeet. I think it was origionally for some sort of electric trailer brake or something - I dunno, but that's just a guess (I really have no idea) - anyways it lights up when it's on and will become my NEW LINE LOCK switch. As you can see it don't take too much to get me excited. In any event I made the mounting block today, but still need to finish wiring it. I still need to mount my "secret weapon" on my coupe - I also found a kickass vacuum switch for that at the same meet. Spent too much time crusin' my Piewagon today!!!!

Well, my plans got put on hold sunday morning when mrs fiddy informed me it was time to set posts for her "yard reclaiming project" cause she figured if my shoulder feels good enough to screw around in the garage, its good enough to run fencing

got all but one post set, and by the time we were finished my right arm and shoulder was SCREAMING painfull. off to the ER this morning cause i got about a total of an hour and a half last night because of the pain... needed to see if i messed up the rotator cuff again... nope, shoulder is golden, but i got a herniated disc in my friggin back/neck  off to have an MRI done sometime tuesday or wednesday. im sick of doctors, im sick of bullshit, and im sick of not being able to work on my frickin cars.

this aint my peckin year guys, cause if this pans out that i gotta go under the knife, thats three (3) operations for me in the calender year of 2005. this shit is gettin old man.

on the bright side, im learning a shitload of Autodesk/CAD stuff thats gonna come in REAL damn handy once i get to fabin up the chassis for the River Rat and hopefully, my HAMBster for MOKAN next year.

    I feel ya fiddyfour...

I had a double spinal fusion last November. Way down low though not where yers is. Mine was pretty bad. It seems like they have better luck with them up where yers is, plus sounds like yers is only one. Either way do what the hell they tell ya to! Buddy of mine from another forum (hell he's prob'ly here too) had two compressed verts up in that area and he got off with pt and no invasive surgery.

Anyway hope it works out well for ya. Good luck!

Well yesterday I was actually going to do some work on the 40 that needed to be done. Finish welding up split bones, brackets for the paralel leaves. But I got sidetracked...I had a rear fender that I stripped and needed to get some primer on then I thought what the hell Ill do the trunk lid too. Well I kinda got carried away and accidently sprayed the color on the deck. So you could say I just goofed off.
