  1. Lumpy is a very cool, very helpful guy! We talked about Small Block Chevrolets for the better part of a day!

  7. The fenders were from Superior (which burned down) the chin was from Jim Carter and the hood was from Creative Glass (which was horrible).
I think Chevs of the 40's is selling some glass parts for the 41-46, my running boards or rear fenders came from Old Chicago but I don't know if their still in business either.

  8. Looks pretty sinister, Swade!

  9. Thanks, plenty more work to do on the front clip, next up will be attaching the fender cutouts onto the cowl which will be a feat in itself trying to get everything lined up. The hood sides need to get sucked in to the cowl and pulled down while the outside of the fenders need to be pulled out, then I can place the cutouts in the hole to figure out where to attach them to the cowl.

Seems a shame to cover that engine.

  12. The art deco flow is the best with the hood shut or in this case the tilt front closed, now with the windows you can at least see that something is holding up that surfer scoop.

Too late now. But had you given the thought of angled vertical lines with radiuses corners? IMG_2990.jpeg

  14. Of course and also had it laid out in tape, didn't like it, the grill angle and the cowl angle are different, the lines I used are the same as the firewall which measured at 89 degrees.
I first started making patterns of window shapes a couple years ago, I like to thoroughly think these things through before cutting, so I don't have to go back and fix it. Lol
I feel the shape I used most resembles the look of factory hood sides removed but still leaving enough meat to tilt the front forward by the hood.

  15. should have factory headlites, just my 2 cents...

  16. In Edmonton for Metallica with my two teenage daughters, went and bought some early Hemi parts from a cool old school hotrodder.

Got the front cover and a four barrel intake for my 354 as well as some Chrysler Firepower script valve covers.

I tried those butt welding clamps. Back to magnets for me. Right after that, someone started a thread about 'em. Too hard to extract if you want a tight fit.

31303.jpeg Had a problem with a blower manifold on an sbc, no way valve covers would have sealed. I was gonna take it to work and mill it but my pal Larry said I'll handle it. 31376.jpeg 31377.jpeg He ran it through his table saw.....problem solved!

I freaked a lot of people out using wood working equipment on aluminum. One curious guy stopped and asked me 1000 question’s. We’ve been friends ever since and has a few 59 Chevy’s now.

Ditto but I know perfectly well that every time I need a tool or part it is on the wrong damn floor. Unless I can beam between levels I'll stick to one level.

  24. My early Hemi bounty. He has several complete 331 extended bell hemis. I’m back in Edmonton on Wednesday…hmmmm….

I’ll take it all to work on Thursday and throw it in the hot tank.

20240902_062615.jpg Went to the Labor day auto swap. Found a set of non uni lug skinny Cragars , I think they will clean up pretty good. Felt fine paying a hundred bucks for em.
