I picked up some engine parts today...350 block and steel crank, cast pistons and aftermarket rods, plus a 1969 motorhome TH400.

    350 crank.jpg

And I put a crappy new sound system in the corvette. No pictures of that!

  10. I forgot about that! Those would look great!

Nice score Jim. Is the crank standard?

says 20/20 on it, but I haven't measured or looked at the bearings yet. The journals look ok, so I dont plan on grinding it

I remember looking through dozens of boxes of 5 star rebuilt 350 steel cranks to find a good one for our stock car.

Little nits with battery set-up and cables.
Cheap ass trunk liner (carpet over thin plywood) finally done.
As previously noted the battery cover is made from an old cheese box.
    Cheesy huh?

When I first was working on my 32 , I was told I had stage 4 cancer , 20% chance to make it 5 years . I had a 70 LT1 sitting from a 37 Chebby Coupe build . I tore it down sent the forged steel crank to the shop . Went and had 1st of 4 surgeries . Went to pick up my steel crank . The guy comes back and tosses 2 pieces at me and says “ it was 002 off and it broke straightening it . “ I had lots of other pressing stuff to worry about , picked up the pieces , tossed them in the dumpster , in the car and exited . By the cancer free for 32 years !

Now I get your name…congratulations on 32 years

  25. I had esophageal cancer and have now been free of it for 4+ years so at 75 years old, decided it was time to finish the '29 AA, get it run in, painted, glassed, titled and licensed. We're both playing with house money so let's root for each other. Like Tim says, "Ain't nothin' for a stepper."

20240928_082502.jpg hauled the blower motor to the shop and mounted it on the run stand.

  28. Congratulations to you both!

We are dealing with Laura's stage 4 now & stories like these definitely add to the positive attitude we need!

I was able to spend some time in the shop over this past week. Finally got around to buffing the 64 GP as well as the Nash.....These cars don't seem so big until you buff each one twice over a couple day period!:eek:

Also tore into the front brakes of the GP as it had a pull to the left under braking. Leaky wheel cylinder & some Moron put the shoes on backwards! LOL

    God Bless

Reminds me I just re discovered this 400 Pontiac when I had to replace our rusted out water heater. If we were just a little closer... 20240820_094729.jpg
