  3. 0626241212_HDR.jpg 1221231426.jpg So on the Gene Winfield Kaiser projects if anybody has been following along since I bought them about a year ago. I sold the 1952 Kaiser to a nice fella that lived an hour away he is going to leave the "patina" and drive it pretty much as is if he gets it running and if not he's going to put a new engine in it but that is pretty much irrelevant to my post other than I also have a 1951 that is a parts car and a 1953. As soon as the 1952 left the yard I decided to pull the 1953 up in its space and start taking the parts off the 51 for the 1953 that was about 2 weeks ago, I have been working on it two or three hours a day now for the last few weeks I'm not really in a race to get it done and being that it's a four-door Kaiser it has little to no value so everything's done on a shoestring budget The picture missing the bumpers and all the doors broken and stuck open was the way I bought it from Gene Winfield's car auction last December. The two pictures where they have tail lights and bumpers on it is the way the car looked as of 40 minutes ago or so.
I hope everybody is having a happy Thanksgiving and enjoying their long weekend I am going to continue my progress on this car and hopefully have it fired up maybe by Sunday The engine does turn over with a breaker bar relatively easy but I want to get the last door opening and closing first and get the hood latch to work, today I replaced the hood hinges and welded a brace on the hood since it was torn.

Side note If anyone knows of an article either on here or on another site shows how to French headlights I would be happy to look at it I despise the headlight rings on this car and since both of them are technically a right hand side (I filed on the one to make it fit the left because it's better than nothing) It would be a good opportunity to French it.
The plan here is a rustoleum flat white paint job, lower the car a couple of inches and maybe either lace or scallop the roof to accent the car's Eddie Munster apperance, The goal is to spend no real money on the car maybe 1,000 bucks or so and have a really fun car to cruise locally. I am going crazy not having an older car to drive around locally in. The gas mileage 1990s style mini truck It's fun to drive and definitely brings me back to high school age but it does not match my pompadour lol

Wasting my time. Looks cool, until you realize the scale. Way too small for a T-bucket!

    Rear main seal let go.

    Cloyes timing chain stretched.

Not satisfied with the idle vacuum, or the O2 bleed into the exhaust at idle. The ECM isn't able to compensate, and goes into an enrichment cascade.

It ain't over 'till it's over.

Don't know what your C O E looked like when you got it. Sure is looking good now. I built this C O E from a piece of garbage. Would not have built for myself it was so bad but it was a labor of love building for my one and only son. I built the 9N V-8 tractor and the doodle bug tractor for him also He hasn't looked at these in more than 15 years. He was young in this picture. Now he is 51. img379.jpg

@justabeater37 - the metal looks great on your car! The wheels are a win either way you go. Gotta say the tires on those front Torque Thrusts are beautiful!

Trying to run air line into the second stall to replace the "temporary" hose I had for the past few years. It's kinda kickin' my ***. The hose rubbed on the door hardware and has been hissing at me. Got half of my front suspension rebuilt in my '47 Buick. And, this is for @atch -

Today was a trip to town to work on my good friends 62 SS Impala. Had a no spark problem. It has a 409 with a converted distributor that uses GM HEI module mounted external inside the car and had finally failed. Got it replaced and fired up then the fuel pump started leaking so replaced it. Next I need to figure out what's up with the brakes and clutch linkage.

At least it was just an old 409 it wasn't that hard to work on.
