    Got a chance to visit the 62 biscayne project this afternoon. Got the inner fenders installed and the front clip aligned and some of the front sheet metal installed. Still a bit to do but progress is progress.

    My projects have come to a complete halt, but the good thing we bought a different house and it has a huge shop. Busy moving all my stuff. IMG_4174.jpeg

    IMG_3332.jpeg IMG_3329.jpeg Built a yo yo shifter knob for a B&M Unimatic, made a shifter cable mounting bracket. Cleaned up the unimatic, also ground deeper notches on the Drive and Nuetral detents . It feels a little better, not as easy to shift into N or R. Working on making a physical reverse lock out. Most likely a bar or rod located at the lever to keep shifter from engaging reverse. Is physically locking out neutral a good or bad idea? It would be nice not to worry about hitting neutral under full acceleration.

    :DI got the oil and filter changed on the '48, getting ready for Lloydfest. Changing out the incorrect wiper arms and blades for the ones that are supposed to be there.:)

    Finished up the brake pedal and lines. Went to bleed the system last night and looked for brake fluid for 20 minutes. Didn’t find any and it was 10:30 pm. And can’t get back in the garage until Sunday. Booooooo.

  12. Hopefully it'll get little cooler and easier to put gas in, that little hole in the roof is cumbersome, plus it's a hole in the roof.

    Following on from my previous post, we were chatting at my club meet this week about the hood trim and how I wasn't willing to pay/risk shipping a 'bull nose' trim from the states.

    Next thing, a brother disappears and comes back with a full length trim from his 49 chevy truck that he has spare.

    Offered it up last night and I can definitely make it work with a bit of tweaking!

    Something different, will cost pennies to make work and fits my ethos of using what I have locally.

    Lemme know your thoughts.

    Looks to me like it won't take much work to make that work perfectly.

    I am working on figuring out if I can keep this shop open.

    It's not looking good.

    Tariffs have unintentionally created price competition within the US manufacturing sector.

    Our margins were already razor thin. We cannot absorb any portion of the increased costs.

    Other shops can.
