So today at the shop I worked on the owners 36 Ford 5 window , It's a super clean car with a 1970 LT1 factory crate engine in but he never drives it so the fuel pump was toast along with the two braided lines at the carb. fixed all that and took it for a cruise. Later my bud Vito came by in his 67 Vette , He's been buggin me to build a 406 for it and asked to take a ride in my Vette. Up to this point I haven't really wailed on it super hard but today I figured screw it....I had that thing completely sideways in 3rd gear:cool: I'm pretty sure Vito crapped himself a little:D

All he has to do is put it on the trailer and bring it down, I told him I'll finish it for him.

  8. Ok how about hemi in vette, unmentionable motor in unmentionable chevelle, find a nailhead for stude, 427 bbc in plymouth? Now i have an extra sbc, Lumpy was saying I needed yet another car so that works. The 56 bel air feels left out in this shuffle. I dug up a pic of the mystery plymouth from the archives

  13. That RCI filler neck came in yesterday, look at that crooked bastard, you'd think whomever welded it could've at least lined it up straight.

    20230417_135023.jpg

Good news is it looks to be a straight shot from body angle to angle of the filler, about a 5 inch distance from body.

    20230417_160249.jpg 20230417_160951.jpg

Put a little flare on that filler neck pipe, tomorrow I'll stop at my buddy's to see which end he wants to weld on

    20230417_144709.jpg 20230417_144734.jpg

Threw an old test panel in there to see if that's something I want to put on the bulkhead pieces at a later date.

I see someone else does "Field -expedient" bandages out in the garage. Good thing for napkins and electrical tape!

Saved it from the original frame rails that came with the car, but it looks to be Anti roll bars from Competiton Engineering part # C 2027

  22. One of the bolts from the old under car fuel tank had a burr on it preventing it from coming up and out of the hole.
I'm inside the car sticking my arm through the fuel cell sump hole with a pair of vice grips, figured I could clamp onto the threads, unscrew the bolt from inside the car effectively removing the burr.
That quickly excelled to beating the bolt with the vice grips and my thumb decided to jump in the way for some unknown reason, smarts pretty good. Lol

I was assigned to an ambulance for years, and I always wanted to take a patient into the emergency room with paper towel and electrical tape bandages and dressings lmao! The electrical tape is the waterproof version of the napkin/masking tape lol

Currently, Shhhh! (Eyes darting about furtively)), a 1965 Mus&@%€ ragtop. It is my nephew’s. Replacing leaf springs, shocks, fixing clutch/brake pedal bracket, rebuild m/c, replace water pump, replace carb with one I had rebuilt/restored for my father (miss you Dad). Want it on the road while he still has a few weeks of high school left. After summer, he is off to UND. Hoping to foster a love of wrenching on old cars in him. Seems to like it.

I put the rear bars back in the Chevelle, put the rear stabilizer bar in, put the front brake hoses on and the front stabilizer bar. Put a left rear door on a late model crew cab and cut out the cab corner. And messed around with my old car a little. :D

  30. Starting mapping out the hole I have to cut for the gas cap, cut up some pvc pipe to use as a guide to get at least the height of the hole. If the stupid thing wasn't crooked I could've located the hole with this method, but the aftermarket doesn't make it easy on you.

I'll probably measure down from the window rubber and gamble a little with measuring over the bracing, which of course isn't there on the outside where I have marked the centerline.
