Dealing with a bunch of nit-picky shit, but she’s wired and fired and made her first trip up, down and around the block.
And now shakedown  begins in earnest. :)

I am working on my 1950 Lincoln when I get a chance. Still needs some lowering, possibly a bit of paint work, reinstall the gas tank, and it will drive.

When I have the same problem, I make a list of all the steps that I have to do to complete whatever it is I am doing. I go out in the shop and each day I knock off one item on the list, no matter how small. Come back into the house and cross it off the list. Pretty soon I am crossing off 2 items per day. Then before you know it the project is complete.

What do you do if you’re not proficient at all position welding……position the work. IMG_5827.jpeg 70689851218__6EA4F103-4018-4707-BA96-27ADE6E1DF97.jpeg

No kidding. Been 3 plus years since welding anything. It’s like learning all over, well sort of. 6D5928A5-76EF-41ED-9C3F-6F7985B44A2C.jpeg 0035F06A-9E98-4FB2-B1D4-C918B170BE42.jpeg

Getting ready to do a carburetor rebuild. Ashamed to say this is the first ever rebuild under my belt, but I've done my reading and have plenty of literature to keep me straight.

If you can't weld good, weld a lot, and own a good grinder. :D

Lol, the weld has to be good first (penetration). It’s not Bondo.

Took a bunch of crap to the Memorial day auto swap, sold most of it and came home with a fresh 10 10 forged 350 crank + an Edelbrock eps intake for the small block I'm building. Good day in my book:cool:

I'm working on brakes....got the new lines finished, all the wheels are done, got the pedals in hopefully for the last time and filled the MC with fluid. I guess it's time to get brave and see if they'll work.

Also got the glovebox door on, which is a big win in my book. Now I can safely store the registration and insurance papers, which are patiently waiting to go for a drive!

I feel for you Dana. Been there, done that. Quite a few years back I was doing 12 hour days helping in my Dad's panel shop after he'd been badly injured in a car accident. I'd get home, pull the shed door open and stare at the project in there. Shut the door and go back inside the house, too knackered after working on cars all day, had no enthusiasm for my own stuff.
My lovely wife could see it was tearing me apart so she suggested going down to the shed for an hour, even if it was to clean some bolts or organise things. Before too long she'd have to come and get me to go to bed because I was getting involved in the project and not noticing the time.
What's the saying "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

Certainly not this that I seen the other day at the Chevelle El Camino show. Don’t worry, this is year friendly to the forum. 5E4D4EF8-0262-40BB-B3C6-8120FFD9AEFC.png

Took the day off from work today as my cousin and his family were visiting from England. Went and had lunch and came back to the house, His 12 yr old son fell in love with the Corvette so I took him for a ride. His Dad who knows me very well asked me to take it easy so I didn't do any full throttle runs. The little guy strapped himself in and we went for a run around the neighborhood , he videoed the whole trip as I let it warm up...When we were coming back in front of the house I stabbed it from a roll in first and boiled em pretty hard:cool: He thought that was awesome and remarked he had never been in anything that fast. His Mum wasn't super pleased but the minute he got out he was showing the video to his sisters:D He told his Dad he wants a Corvette...

Always screwing with my stuff. Took my big red NASCAR Purolator filter of and found that Harley Davidson 7” chrome replacement air cleaner tops fit my dual quad Carter WCFB’s.

Still working on uncovering and organizing my Dad's large collection of treasure. Finally cleared a pathway to push this Jimmy block that hasn't seen daylight in 50 years outside. I remember looking at this from the seat of my Schwinn.
It's been sitting on this pretty cool engine cart but the adaptors definitely aren't GMC. I pulled out this old box buried under a shelf full of newspapers a few days ago also.
Bolted on a few other items I had found earlier. Looks like a good start for an engine build. IMG_3198.JPG IMG_3199.JPG IMG_3204.JPG IMG_3337.JPG IMG_3336.JPG IMG_3335.JPG
