  2. I've been cutting and sanding the oak in my El Camino bed. I like the look of wood, but being custom cut, it's been a headache. IMG20230626210627_01.jpg

Moved some cars around today, first time the Barracuda has been on all for since the motor and trans went in. Started on body work on it this afternoon.

Welded up some emblem holes, mostly because I don’t have the emblems….the fender and door are pretty much ready for primer. Minor details to take care of.

  7. Haha, easy to be quick when you don’t do quality work! There’s a little rust on the bottom of the quarter behind the wheel so that will take a mild amount of time to fix. Reason I liked this car is it is really a decent car to start with and is all original paint so there is nothing hiding.

    Oh….also I’m painting this one white…;)

Which white are you going with?

  9. Uhhhh….white white….:)

Remember I use Endura on everything so it’ll be 120 white which is a brute white, red stripes over the hood, roof etc. the factory style stripe

So today I fixed the overcharging alternator on the Vette and figured out pushrod length on a 406 and a 350 I'm building. Grilled a couple of burgers for the wife and I, and Had a couple of cold brews...Good day:cool:

@saltflats I was able to look past all that gravel and work to spy the 61 sedan. I really like those cars! :D But, I don’t envy spending the time and money on gravel.

Well it started w a simple enough task of removing this old leaky oil pressure sender. W my ol Gorilla hands that turned out to be a pain. Had to pull headers, then had to pull the Alternator to get them off.
Then project creep kicked in and now Its paint the alt/ps pump brackets while thier off. Might as well ditch the Champions & get some new proper AC Delco plugs in there while im at it... and relocate the oil line on top of the block down to that other port to clean things up a bit.
Oh yea got a new SW water temp guage in to replace the old dead one too... Been tied up at the hospital the last few days taking care of Mom. Plus side I think I found my exhaust leak thats been driving me crazy so too thats good. Hope to get it back together here in the next few days as time allows. 20230601_223159.jpg 20230628_194148.jpg 20230701_230036.jpg 20230701_230245.jpg 20230627_225631.jpg 1000003381.jpg

I suppose not so much what I'm working on....but I did manage to get pulled over in my own driveway today:p I was driving the Vette home mid day today and as I was in front of the fire house a couple of blocks away I noticed the guys were next to me in the rig, now they all know me as the guy with the old cars up the street so when the light turned green I kinda launched it ...not real hard but enough to make some tire noise:D What I didn't notice was the cop two cars back:confused: As I turned the corner onto my street I saw him coming and as I turned into my driveway he lit me up. So as I'm going up the driveway I made the car act all stupid and jerky , squeeling the tires. When I got out I told him my clutch was all F ed up :D He said make sure you repair it before driving it again.....YES SIR OFFICER!

About a month ago I converted my YL to an E-spark, from the moment it fired up something just didn't sound right,, sorta sluggish and week, not very crisp. Started checking things and everything seemed to be in proper working order, not know anything about electronic ignitions I decide I had went as far as I could troubleshooting it, so yesterday the points went back in, as soon as it fired up you could tell it was back! Very crisp, horsepower was back, that good ole cam sound was alive again.... I'm guessing it has to be a bad E-spark unit, anyhow its hanging in the display case for future reminders...Long live points!!:D

Cleaned up the floor on this old Dodge truck to spray it with some bedliner . At some point someone had cut the trans tunnel up to get the trans out and then just beat it back down and welded it back together.
I am not planning on carpet or a mat but the tunnel sure looks bad . So to add a custom touch and to hide the hack job I fabbed up a cover with a nice vintage Hurst boot. Nothing like redneck fabrication ! IMG_1018.JPG IMG_1009.JPG IMG_1011.JPG IMG_1007 (3).JPG
